When Marvel chief announced the next for its Cinematic Universe, Shang-Chi is one of the chief movies coming to Phase 4. The MCU introduced Ten Rings as a Terror group pursuing take over the world. Thus becoming Tony Stark’s nemesis in the first instalment, the legend is left out.
Since then though, Marvel chose a very weird and unrealistic way to go forward with Ten Rings terror group. Hopefully, MCU Phase 4 will fix that.
Shang Chi and Mandarin – Father-son battle?
Fans enjoy seeing their favourite characters coming to life as close to original as possible. We have seen the fan frenzy that occurs when fans get to know that the origins of their favourite character may not be shown as written in the comics. Rumours of casting a person of colour and changing the origins of Mandarin – these are only two occasions we have seen this.
This does not, however, mean Shang-Chi will be accurate to the pages of illustrations fans have spent their time reading. In Iron Man 2, Whiplash (aka Mandarin) attacks Tony Stark during an F-1 race and Iron Man knocks him out. The fact of the matter is that he is not Mandarin and the real big-baddie isn’t too happy about it.
When Shang-Chi comes to Phase 4 of Marvel, it is sure, to begin with showing how the Legend of Ten Rings came into being and the secrets of Mandarin. In the comics, Shang-Chi fights his own father and siblings. In this case, though, Marvel tried to get the first hand in using the Kung-Fu revolution that was came with Bruce Lee.
The notorious villain, Fu-Manchu was the character used in the comics to portray as the villain as well as the father. For a long time, Shang remains unaware of the villainy his father dwells and deals in. Thereafter, Shang continues to fight his father who is later revealed to be an ancient sorcerer by the name of Zheng Zhu. In other words, Marvel had lost the rights to use Fu-Manchu. It is highly possible that Shang-Chi will jump ship against his father when he is seen in the Legend of 10 Rings.
The Iron Ant Suit?
With all the clues pointing to it, there is a big chance that fans will get to see an Iron Ant suit once again. Though Iron Man does not exist, Ten Rings is a terror group known for copy-cat tech terrorism. The same is seen in the Iron Man movies. The Easter egg revealed in an extended cut of Ant-Man shows one of the buyers with a tattoo of the Ten Rings easily visible on his neck.
This may imply that no buyers ever got the technology created by Hank Pym aka Pym Particles. It could very possibly mean the opposite, standing in sync with the ways of the Ten Rings. In essence, there is a very high possibility that Mandarin may be seen using a cluster form Iron Ant suit.
The Legend Unleashed – Ten Rings of Power:
The story of Mandarin extends farther than the terror group. While the Ten Rings have only been mentioned as a terror group in the MCU till now, we may see cosmic weapons yet again. The Ten Rings theory in the comics arises through the ashes of the spaceship of an Alien Dragon.
Having grown up learning about science and combat, Mandarin comes across a crashed ship. The alien dragon who goes by the name of Makluan possessed the Ten Rings of power. While the dragon lay dead in the crash, Mandarin is able to learn all the Makluan science and uses it for controlling the power of the 10 Rings. Thus begins the legend of the Ten Rings in the Marvel Universe.
Shang-Chi will be a fantastic movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Finally, some action and diversity to be happy about. The movie in the phase 4 slate releases in 2021.
