Stormfront has denied her presence in The Boys Season 3, but could it be a hoax
The Boys fans have been wondering for a while if Aya Cash’s Stormfront will return after Ryan Butcher left her limbless in the Season 2 finale. So, recently in an interview Cash revealed that she won’t return for the upcoming season. But, The Boys fans who know how diabolically remarkable Stormfront was, are still optimistic about her return. We believe that she might be just playing around like many other superstars and would return beside Homelander.
Everyone returned but not Homelander’s only/best friend
The Boys Season 3 which is expected to be even more skyrocketing than Season 2 released its trailer some days back. As soon as the trailer came out fans were overjoyed to realise how their screens are going to be covered with blood splashes.
The blood spattering trailer didn’t just go viral on YouTube but also got flagged over 20 Million times on YouTube. It had new Supes, Crimson Countess attacking someone with Homelander’s attire and the first look at the Super Soldier. What made the trailer even crazier was not some new Supe, but the leader of The Boys, Billy Butcher transforming into a Supe.
Apart from all the crazy stuff in the dialogue-less trailer and all the reprising cast appearing in the trailer, Stormfront wasn’t there. After The Boys Season 2 ended and Homelander’s son, Ryan Butcher left Cash’s Supe injured and limbless, but alive, we thought that she might return.
Aya Cash Reveals
Even though she didn’t appear in the trailer, the true fans believed that Homelander’s partner will return and the chaos will continue. The optimism was further supported by Eric Kripke, when he told TV Line, “No, Stumpfront is not dead” and her character might live on for centuries with her fate worse than her death. Continuing, “She’s Stumpfront! She’s a stumpy little Nazi. She’s actually not dead. What we thought was interesting is, if you remember, she ages very, very slowly.” Further adding about the fate of the character,
So the best poetic ending for that character is someone who so believed in some kind of pure race finds herself mutilated and having to live with it for potentially centuries felt like a fate worse than death for her. So no, Stumpfront is not dead. Hashtag Stumpfront lives!”
Sadly, the graph of optimism didn’t rise for long. Aya Cash confirmed in an interview with Metacritic that once The Boys Season 3 releases, she will be also watching it with everyone. When in the interview she was asked if Stormfront will return in the upcoming The Boys Season, she responded:
“The Boys comes out on June 3 and I’ll be watching with the rest of you guys, unfortunately. That’s my update.”
Maybe Stormfront has had her share of violence
After hearing what Cash has to say and taking into account Kripke’s comment, we have a cliffhanger here. On the optimistic side and considering the history of such blockbuster shows and movies, there are chances that Stormfront might return.
Actors have often denied their presence in the upcoming blockbusters and have then made it to the big screen to make it worth it for their fans. For example, Andrew Garfield lied to a lot of people and in a lot of interviews to reveal his big entry in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Anyway, if we think practically maybe it makes sense for Stormfront to not appear in the latest The Boys season. Maybe she has had her share of brutality and blood in Season 2, now it’s time for The Seven to continue without her. Also, her absence in the show may bring a more acrimonious Homelander who fights the Payback, the Boys, and goes against his son, Ryan Butcher too.
There are a lot of maybes and a lot of speculations. But, amidst that, all we can do is wait for The Boys Season 3 to arrive on Amazon Prime with its first three episodes on 6th June 2022.
