While Black Widow’s solo outing is yet to be featured in the MCU, seems like Marvel Studios have found a replacement of the deadly spy in Agent of Shield’s Agent Daisy Johnson aka Quake
After Marvel Studios absolved Marvel Television and Kevin Feige was appointed Chief Creative Officer, most of the TV series such as The Runaways, Inhumans and Iron Fist were given the axe and deservedly so. With an almost sarcastic display of lacklustre acting and crawling plots, Marvel’s TV shows came into their own as a direct opposite to the exciting thrill of its cinematic movies.
One early TV show, however, has managed to pull through the years. As Agents of Shield wraps up its last season, fans hope it would get an ending befitting of the rollercoaster ride Coulsen and his team.
It’s easy to attribute most of the show’s success to Agent Coulson’s ties with the MCU. Although the show did quite enough to keep fans and viewers thrilled. There have been wild adventures ranging from black holes to LMDs and fully functioning Artificial frameworks.
Agent Daisy Johnson aka Quake
The series follows Coulson, an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Tasked with supposedly handling threats the Avengers don’t have time for – like an ad-hoc arrangement. Coulson and his team go wherever they need to go in the galaxy to protect the earth.
One exciting character from the Agents of Shield is Daisy Johnson aka Quake. Played by Chloe Bennett, Daisy has evolved from a street-side hacker to a super-skilled secret agent. In time she developed the ability to manipulate and create shock waves.
Although calls for Quake to crossover into the MCU have been heard for a while, it never really had any visible headway until now. With the commencement of the MCU Phase 4 coinciding with the season finale of Marvel’s Agents of Shield. The discussions around Quake’s crossover have resurfaced.
Signs of Quake’s Marvel Entry
While most of are just rumours. There are some pretty compelling arguments as to why Quake would be a good addition to MCU.
The sheer potential and skill Daizy Johnson possesses can make her an invaluable asset. She is a good spy and her skill set makes her perfect replacement for ScarJo’s Black Widow. After her certain departure in the Endgame, the ranks of the Avengers need to be filled.
Initially recruited due to her top-notch tech skills. Quake has trained in Karate, acquired cool superpowers and battled Chronicoms in space. However, with an already large line up of new superheroes set to join the MCU. Johnson could be a good addition to the Avengers lineup.
Rumours of Marvel searching for a writer for a Secret Warriors series. Coupled with the discovery of a new Quake Facebook page adds more fuel to the Quake story. In the comics, Quake has a lengthy spell as a member of the Secret Warriors.
With Shang-chi also being discovered through a Facebook page, this could be a typical Marvel Studios’ setup. One element of AoS that has been hugely beneficial to it is how frequently it references the events of the MCU. The show in season 5, even explains Daisy’s absence in Infinity War.
Any crossovers for the shock wave manipulator, however, might have to be delayed till Marvel’s phase 5. But it wouldn’t be a bad idea to expect Quake at some point in the MCU.
