Marvel Studios is now looking for an actress to portray the MCU’s, first transgender woman.
Marvel Studios is continuously expanding the diverse cast for its upcoming Phase 4. They are now looking for a transgender character with filming starting in 2020.
According to the publication, the character codenamed Jessica for casting is a role for a trans-woman actress of any ethnicity in her 20s to 30s.
This character could appear in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and the fourth Thor outing.
There are speculations that the character will appear in Thor: Love and Thunder alongside Natalie Portman as the female Mighty Thor.
In addition to Marvel Studios doubling down on their commitment to ethnic diversity, with a sequel to Black Panther and Asian-led including Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) in Thor: Love and Thunder. Alongside with the franchise’s first major deaf character Makkari (Lauren Ridloff) in Eternals too.
