Lord of The Rings prequel series coming to Amazon Prime Video is set in the Second Age of the Tolkien world. The series revolves will revolve around the history of Middle Earth and Sauron. This means LOTR vs Game of thrones.
There are a few who speculate that the story is going to be about a young Aragon but this is highly doubtful. The Amazon Lord of the Rings prequel is set to make a huge splash in the world, showing the true strenght of Sauron.
LOTR Prequel series is the biggest Amazon Prime project yet
This may be the stepping stone for the entire series. LOTR’s world is vast, spreading far and wide to islands during the second age. We may see the deception of Sauron and the making of the rings of power rather than a young Aragon navigating life.
Silmarillion is the tale that covers page after page about the history of Middle Earth, from the beginning with immortal elves to where it ends or at least will one day end. LOTR vs Game of Thrones?
The vast universe is going to take up twenty 1-hour episodes which will hopefully do justice to the storyline. Amazon is really hoping to make Lord of the Rings prequel series one worth your time. Teams over at Amazon give the series a beginning budget of $1 Billion. This is definitely a Game of Thrones killer. LOTR is already much better, comparing with Game of thrones. This series will kill it for good.
About $250 million of this is reportedly to acquire the rights to make a Tolkien universe series. It even comes with rules as to not change any of the history and vision behind the world of Lord of The Rings. It also forbids the makers from using any content from the third age of Lord of The Rings. Will this mean that Game of Thrones will be dead once this series comes out?
The making of the One Ring?
The Amazon Prime LOTR official page tweeted the map of the Tolkien world the story will be set in. Lord of the Rings prequel; Tolkien scholars are bound to understand the map better than most people. The elephant in this map leads to speculation about the storyline. The existence of Numenor is perhaps of utmost importance so far. This sets up the era somewhere in the second age of Middle Earth.
So far, Sauron is sure to be the antagonist for the series, though he may be unrecognisable for a good chunk. That is because of the original story created by the master of Middle Earth and The Lord of The Rings.
The story is all about the deception of Sauron against the men of the Numenor and the sinking of the Numenor isles. The idea is that Sauron will come in as a human. He is born to deceive and fills the Numenorians with poison against the gods of Middle Earth, the Valar.
The exciting part of all of this is that we may finally get to see more of Middle Earth and maybe even Valinor. While the part of Valinor is far fetched, it is sure to lead to the formation of the rings of power and of the One Ring to Rule them all.
Remaking of Middle Earth?
The rules that have been assigned to Amazon makers of this LOTR prequel series clearly state that the events of the Tolkien world are to stay untouched. This directly implies that we are bound to see the crucial events that lead to the end of Sauron in the second age. Yes, including the final stand made by the Elves and Men of Middle Earth. This. Is. The Dream.
Well, almost. Fans of Silmarillion know that the first age is the most fantastic time in LOTR history.
It is possible that we get to see the remaking of the world and epic final battles from the world of LOTR. This Amazon prequel series is sure getting our hopes high. The series will come out in 2021 but even the Amazon executives prefer a 2020 release, if possible.
