STX films have bought the high concept comic superhero movie ‘Night Wolf’, starring Kevin Hart.
Kevin Hart and STX are teaming for a superhero comedy ‘Night Wolf’. The movie is directed by Detective Pikachu writer Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit.
Kevin Hart will play an everyman meeting his future in-laws for the first time only to discover he is secretly the superhero known as the Night Wolf.
Hart is attached to star in and produce Night Wolf.
STX Entertainment announced a partnership with HartBeat Productions to produce two comedy projects starring Hart. “Night Wolf” is the third Hart project in development with the studio after the previously announced films “Black Friday” and an untitled romantic comedy.
STXfilms chairman Adam Fogelson said, “After we acquired Night Wolf, we submitted it to Kevin Hart and the team at HartBeat, hoping they would love it as much as we did. It is a big, broad comedy, and the idea is great fun and perfectly matched with Kevin’s comedic talent.”
“I instantly fell in love with this pitch about an everyday guy who is meeting his in-laws for the first time and unwittingly discovers his [father-in-law]-to-be is secretly a superhero,” Hart added.
Hernandez and Samit are represented by Oly Obst at 3 Arts Entertainment, and Karl Austen and Michael Auerbach at Jackoway Austen Tyerman Wertheimer Mandelbaum Morris Bernstein Trainer & Klein.
