The major differences between Zack Snyder’s Justice League and Joss Whedon’s 2017 theatrical cut
Many are still confused about why Warner Bros is re-releasing a 3-year-old movie that terribly failed on the box-office. Well, that’s the difference between a casual viewer and a fan. A true Snyder fan, follower, army – call them what you may – knows the loss Justice League had sans Snyder’s vision. Snyder had inherited the DC world from alma mater of realism and darkness – Christopher Nolan. The Dark Knight director picked up Zack to helm the reboot of Superman. Snyder not only came up with a Man of Steel movie in 2013 but also a vision for DCEU. High on the success of the Dark Knight trilogy Wb greenlit Snyder’s vision but after the reviews of MoS and Batman V Superman, their heart changed. Long before Snyder stepped down the studio had brough in Joss Whedon to do additional writing. What happened next is a Frankenstein’s monster situation.
Whedon practically rewrote, reshot and retooled the entire Justice league. There is a long list of things that ‘went wrong’. Don’t go far just observe Henry Cavill’s upper lip in the 2017 Justice League, you’ll know the difference! WB wanted justice league to be their answer to Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Avengers. Whedon did a billion-dollar job with that movie but DC was a different ball game all together. The 2012 Avengers was built on 6 movies spread across 4-5 years. Wherein, Justice League introduced new characters as well as was a build up for the sequel. Avengers were all set to assemble with their CGI work and character arcs built in a colourful MCU built by Disney. On the other hand WB wanted to turn a movie ‘light and fun’ that was supposed to start with Superman’s death!
So, all of it will be rectified in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Here’s a breakdown of all the apparent differences between Zack Snyder’s Justice League and 2017’s Joos-tice League as fan community calls it.
Superman’s Character Arc
The fact that Henry Cavill did not participate in the additional photography for the Snyder cut hints at the idea how much of his actual character arc was cut out. He happens to be the one who did extensive reshoots for Whedon.
The new tariler starts with Superman dying and the black suit confirms his ressurrection. When Snyder incepted the DCEU, Superman was at the heart of it. We’ll see the arc unfolding in the new Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
Cyborg At The Heart of JL
It’s no hidden fact that Joss Whedon has abused many of his actors. However, Cyborg actor Ray Fisher was the first to bring it to the public domain and WB. Fisher was the heart of Snyder’s Justice League but Whedon cut short his story. Given that Cyborg is made out of the same technology as Motherboxes his connection to them is going to propel the story further.

Darkseid is the Real Villain
As against the 2017 Joss-tice League where Darkseid’s narrative was cut out and Steppenwolf was brought in as the main antagonist. Snyder Cut is going to reinstate the big bad to his former glory in the plot.
Joker And Batman Will Come Face To Face
After revealing the Joker’s new look to Vanity Fair, Snyder told them he though it was ‘uncool’ for auidence to come this far and not see Batman and Joker onscreen together. Jared Leto makes and exceptional appearence in the Knightmare sequence of which we got a glimpse during the second trailer.
Uniting the Seven
While we know the 5 memebers of the League too well both Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter needs to find their spot in the Justice League. Snyder has promised to bring them back. While it’s unclear if Ryan Reynolds will make an appearence or not the official merchandise agrees that Green Lantern will be a part of the League.
