John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum is referring to some hidden meaning through the movie. John Wick 3, the critically acclaimed chapter of the movie begins at the same note as John Wick 2 ended. Parabellum is largely a reference to the entire plot moving forward in the direction of something bigger.
It seems that the movie itself was a series of brutal kills making it an enjoyable watch without losing a touch of emotion. As we watch Baba Yaga trying to survive trials by blade, sword, axe and bullets, you cannot help but feel for the man.
John Wick 3 reference is apt for this movie:
The plot reveals we see in this movie- from the Parabellum symbol reference to trying to get to the high table through the thinner John may have seen in his life. John survives because he wants to bring a change; to his life and across the world.
We see John Wick killing assassins who try to kill him for the massive bounty hanging over him; he pushes through. Gunshots and gory kills are a common attribute to John Wick’s plot but the Parabellum reference goes far beyond reasonless killing.
The most intriguing definition of the world Parabellum is in the movie itself. In the words of McShane, “If you want peace, prepare for war.”, the line is perfect to describe the movie.

It shows how prepared for war Mr McShane is and his show of strength is perfectly clear. The show of strength is a perfect prequel for the war that is coming for the next movie. John Wick 4 is going to be the best part yet because of the plotline Parabellum and the reference behind it has set up for viewers.
The 9mm Ammunition Relation
The word Parabellum is also related to the ammunition made 9×19mm Parabellum firearms. These may be part of the guns that are used by John Wick through the movie. We may never know about that part.
The Keanu effect:
Keanu Reeves is the life of these movies and there’s a very good reason behind it – he is Wick. Parabellum is the perfect movie to refer to if you wish to understand why. He is broken, has nothing left nor a reason to live. It is his willpower that keeps him going on despite being a dead man walking.
At the end of the movie we see him tumble down the terrace of the hotel where the final fight occurred. This is the war of John Wick, not only with himself as he understands that he cannot change things by dying. Even if death is the only option, throughout Parabellum we see references to the war that is coming.
John Wick 4 is coming in 2021.
