Jared Leto’s Joker joins Eisenberg’s Luthor and Manganellio’s Deathstroke for a possible peak of Injustice League in the Snyder Cut.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is slowly coming out to be the biggest project in DC’s utility belt right now. Each day, it seems to get bigger and bigger. As reported by the Hollywood Reporter, Jared Leto’s infamous Joker is back for some additional photography in Snyder’s JL Cut. After Joaquin Phoenix’s Academy winning portrayal of the clown prince of crime, Leto gets another shot at proving himself in his version of the Joker.
Leto’s inclusion in the cast isn’t new. Rumours of his possible appearance in Snyder’s Justice League dates back to 2017. Now, the official inclusion of The Joker in the Justice League signals at a possibility of an ‘Injustice League’ in the DCEU future.
With inclusion in Snyder Cut Jered Leto becomes the only actor to portray Joker twice in live action!
In the theatrical version of the League, Steppenwolf was the paramount villain. But, the 2021 Snyder Cut trailer showed Uxas, baby Darkseid, as the prime terrorizer of the DCEU universe. Will the DCEU experience a new future with Zack Snyder’s vision?
Welcome, Back Mr J
AT&T is on fast-paced damage control mode right now with Warner Bros. The resurrection of Snyder Cut was in favour of the new HBO Max streaming platform. Zack Snyder’s project not only has fans on its side but also a $ 200 million feature film skeleton and now added muscle of $ 70 million. In a long run, Warner would want to milk the now dubbed Snyder-verse either as an Elseworld franchise or by opening plots for future character franchises for sure!
After the massive success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and specifically the Avengers series, it seems that DC is now trying to bet on its strengths. Following the much-debated Batman V Superman, Suicide Squad came to the theatres. A team of villainous misfits working together under Amanda Waller. Suicide Squad was helmed by David Ayer, who also claims to have a completely different director’s cut like Snyder.

Though Suicide Squad featured big names such as Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, it tanked at the box office. Now, Snyder has reportedly called on Jared Leto to reprise his version of the Joker to complete the storytelling process from 2017 in the director’s cut. Leto’s Joker will join an army of villains that the Justice League will have to face-off in Snyder’s cut. Even though, Leto’s portrayal of the Joker was disregarded by the fans. Jared maintained that his Joker had much more than shown.
Suicide Squad director David Ayer went on record to say that his Joker was much different than what we witnessed.
Maybe, Snyder will give fans another chance to see Leto’s Joker in its full glory (Read: Gory). After all, there was a much-speculated Joker card in the official Snyder Cut trailer that was revealed during the DC FanDome event.
The Dawn of DC’s Injustice League
In one of the end credit scenes from the 2017 version of JL, we saw a glimpse of Jon Manganellio as the Deathstroke, along with Lex Luthor, played by Jesse Eisenberg. It was one of the shots from Zack Snyder, who laid the ground for the future of DCEU movies. At the time, rumors were about the possible introduction of the Injustice League in the DCEU Universe. After Justice League got washed at the theatres, WB tried the Marvel way. They tried to be funny, bright, and brief. But, even that did not work. Birds of Prey and Shazam received a lukewarm response.

Now, Snyder back in the driving seat of the DCEU. We know for sure that Darkseid is making his debut on the big screen. But there are a plethora of bad guys in Snyder’s universe.
Steppenwolf will reappear *with better CGI* along with Desaad, a chief in Darkseid’s army.
In the comics, Injustice League is a league formed by the villains in the universe to take on the Justice League. Founding members of this league are Lex Luthor, Deathstroke, Cheetah and Joker. We also know that Cheetah is coming to DCEU with Wonder Woman 1984. So, we may see different DCEU timelines running simultaneously and merging in a possible Infinite Earth’s rendition.
Zack Snyder was the founder of DCEU with Man of Steel, and the man has faced his fair share of criticism and support. Now, he pledges to blow the minds of the DC fans. We can not wait to see what we missed back in 2017. Maybe, Zack Snyder catapults DC into a new favourite studio with his version of the Justice League.
