James Cameron recently broke his silence over the upcoming project of Avatar 2 and the superhero inspiration behind the project.

It’s been over a decade since Cameron’s Avatar broke the all-time record at the box office with $2.789 billion. However, it has now been replaced by Avengers: Endgame with takings of over $2.796 billion. But this is not at all worry for James Cameron as we continue to wait for Avatar 2.
Recently, Cameron has shared his hopes for Avatar 2 and the other three sequels he’s still working on. The Oscar-winning filmmaker said, “It gives me a lot of hope. Avengers: Endgame is demonstrable proof that people will still go to movie theaters.”

How Avenger: Endgame success inspired Cameron’s confidence?
“The thing that scared me most about making Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 was that the market might have shifted so much that it simply was no longer possible to get people that excited about going and sitting in a dark room with a bunch of strangers to watch something,” Cameron added.
Cameron always had a plan to come back to the world of Pandora; the only thing is that he took a long time to come. We are apparently getting 4 sequels to the franchise.
Avatar’s Success
Avatar is the science fiction film that shows the US army land up in Pandora, an earth-sized moon in outer space with an objective. They need minerals from Pandora’s soil for which they need to fight with peace-loving indigenous of the Pandora.
“Cameron’s talent may just be as big as his dreams.”
The film cast did not have a big name, but the characters were all credible and attention-grabbing. The film showed Sam Worthington’s and Zoe Saldana’s love story as the blue-skinned human Avatar and a Na’vi women. Avatar justifies its bloated budget of being billed as the most expensive Hollywood film at approximately $500 million. It showed us the extent of the possibilities of what movies can do.
Avatar 2 Movie Plot
Now Avatar 2 is an upcoming American science fiction film produced by the 20th Century Fox Studios. This will be the second movie in the Avatar franchise. The film’s shooting was expected to start in April of 2016 but that didn’t happen as per plan.
“So Avatar will arrive in cinemas a full 12 years after the original, we hope this long time is worth the wait.”
There are reports that James Cameron’s Avatar 2 would be titled as Avatar: The Way of Water. The previous movie cast includes Zoe Saldana as the Na’vi princesses Neytiri. Sam Worthington will also return as the human-turned -Na’ vi Jake Sully, Sci-fi goddess Sigourney Weaver and bad guy Stephen Lang will be back too.
Michelle Yeoh has also joined the cast as scientist Dr. Karina Mogue, while Fast & Furious star Vin Diesel is on board too.
Each Avatar sequel to be a standalone
James Cameron, on Avatar 2, said that the films can all stand on their own. “Each movie is a standalone movie that we would wanna go see,” said Cameron.

“You don’t need to have seen the first Avatar in order to see Avatar 2. It sits there and we’re gonna take people on a visual and an emotional journey that comes to its own conclusion,” he added.
The film will be beyond the forests of Pandora into underwater and volcanic video game levels of environments. Cameron promises the movie will make “you shit yourself with your mouth wide open”. We will also see a time jump between the movies.
Avatar 2 to surpass Avengers: Endgame
James Cameron’s upcoming movie Avatar 2 will be able to tap into the same outlook that Endgame did. “Maybe we do, maybe we don’t, but the point is, it’s still possible. I’m happy to see it, as opposed to an alternate scenario where, with the rapid availability, a custom-designed experience that everybody can create for themselves with streaming services and all the different platforms, that [theatrical potential] might not have existed anymore.”
James Cameron is hoping that Avatar 2 will repeat the success of the original.
Avatar 2 was originally set to be released on December 2020 but was pushed back a year following Disney’s acquisition of Fox. Back in July, Cameron congratulated Avengers: Endgame on topping his all-time record. He tweeted from the official Avatar account: “Oel Ngati Kameie, I see you, Marvel.” The picture shows Iron Man interacting with creatures from Avatar.
