Now that Avengers: Endgame is over, Marvel phase 4 is on its way with the first movie being Black Widow.
Black Widow is expected to release on 1st May 2020. It looks like we will see Iron Man returning to Marvel Cinematic Universe sooner than expected. According to our sources, Iron Man will make an appearance in Scarlett Johansson’s standalone Black Widow.
Marvel will be starting phase 4 with a prequel for a character that is already dead. It seems like Marvel Studios are planning for something big. Despite the fact that Robert Downey Jr.’s contract with Marvel is over, it looks like Marvel wants RDJ back.
“It’s unknown how big his role in the film will be although fans will get one final chance to say goodbye.”
Likewise, the last time Downey made a supporting character as in Spider-Man: Homecoming. And that cost Marvel Studios $10 million. So it is evident that Downey’s role in the movie has to be extremely critical.
What do we know about Iron Man’s return?
The film will take place ahead of the fatal events of Endgame where both characters Iron Man and Black Widow died. In Endgame when Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Black Widow arrive on Vormir, they are told that to obtain the Soul Stone, they have to lose someone they love. “A Soul For A Soul”. In Infinity War, Thanos murders Gamora to obtain the soul stone.
The only difference between both the situations was Black Widow and Hawkeye love each other. They’re not romantically involved, but they love each other as friends. They would do anything for each other. The reason Black Widow did this because Hawkeye’s life is worth more. Moreover, her arc is trying to come to peace with the bad things she did. She chooses to die because of what it means to the present and what it means to the past. Furthermore, that sacrifice is as noble as what Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) does at the end of the movie.
What do we know about Black Widow?
Black Widow will be a prequel movie set between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. At both Comic-Con and the D23 Expo, a trailer of Black Widow was shown for the solo movie that hasn’t yet made its way online.
According to the theory when Stark snaps his fingers at the end of Endgame, he also bargains for Natasha’s life. That didn’t happen when Bruce Banner aka Hulk tried to bring Natasha back by snapping his fingers. This happened because to bring back someone who sacrificed their lives for the soul stone, another soul must be sacrificed.
Iron Man will bring back Black Widow for the movie
So after Iron Man snapped, he could have made a deal with rule-makers of the ‘Infinity stones’, the Celestials. They are the oldest entities of the Marvel Universe and were even briefly talked about in the first installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
In the Black Widow movie, we will see something similar to what we saw at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. After Thanos snaps, he goes to a dreamlike world, an orange world where he confronts the younger version of his daughter Gamora whom he sacrificed. Just like this, we will see Iron Man in the orange ‘Soul realm’ and Robert Downey Jr. will find Natasha.
Black Widow owes her life to Iron Man’s sacrifice
Robert Downey will offer his life in exchange for hers and in the next clip you see Romanoff coming back to life in the pool of Vormi. She will be back to the place she sacrificed herself, later to be rescued by Thor or Captain Marvel or somebody else.
There are also leaked photos of Black Widow coming out of the water carrying a shiny object in her hands. This is the only thing that makes sense to move forward the Marvel Phase-4. By this, we will also be able to give tribute to Iron Man. Giving Robert Downey another pay for his iconic Iron Man role.
Marvel thinks Iron Man is lucky for them. Their fan base increased after the release of the first Iron Man movie. It looks like they want to repeat the same thing again.
