Our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is back for the next movie in MCU and this time the Hulk will be joining him.
It looks like Tom Holland is back in action for Spider-Man’s next movie. According to the recent reports, Sony and Marvel have come up with an agreement to do the 3rd Spider-Man movie together. Marvel will produce another Spider-Man movie set to release on 16th July 2021. Jon Watts is in talks to direct the movie.
On this Kevin Feige said that he is thrilled to see Spidey’s comeback to MCU. The Marvel studio team is excited to keep working on the Spider-Man Franchise. He also added that Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes.
Sony-Disney deal for the next Spider-Man movie
Last month, Sony and Disney announced that they will not be working together on the next Spider-Man movie. This happened because Sony did not agree with the new financial deal. Disney wanted a 50/50 cut on all revenue made via Spider-Man films.
According to the new deal, Sony has proposed keeping the arrangement under the current terms. Sony Pictures recently tweeted on Spider-Man coming back in MCU.
Spider-Man is the only hero with the superpower to cross between Sony and MCU. On this Kevin Feige said, “As Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.”
Spider-Man’s homecoming in MCU
It looks like the both Disney and Sony came together has become one of the most important characters, joining Captain America, Iron-Man, Thor and the Hulk in the ever-expanding MCU. Now that Iron Man is dead and Captain America has retired, Spider-Man along with Hulk are Marvel’s only biggest hopes for its future storyline.
For the next Spider-Man movie, Tom Holland had some ideas. Iron Man is not there and Nick Fury is stepping into the mentor role for Sony’s upcoming sequel. So, Holland has a few other characters in mind who he wants to share the screen with going forward.
Tom Holland’s preferred co-stars
Holland expressed that he would like to share the screen with Hulk aka Mark Ruffalo. He thinks Ruffalo’s Hulk will be perfectly suitable as both characters are “science geeks”. It is a pairing we’ve sadly seen little of in the MCU so far. That said, the two would be awesome complementing each other in a future Avengers film.
Moreover, Hulk being the only senior Avenger left is the automatic leadership choice for the new group. Likewise, Tom Holland said that he also wants to team up with Doctor Strange as they both are New Yorkers. The idea of a science guy teamed up with a magician fascinates Holland because it totally contradicts everything he knows.
There are no doubts that we will see Hulk in next Spider-Man Movie as its MCU which mean anything is possible, even if it’s just a cameo. Its possible Hulk can team up with Spider-Man. Moreover, it could be possible that Spider-Man will need Hulk as Sony could come up with their Villains from sinister 6. This time Spider-Man will be fighting with them.
Hulk’s next appearance
Most prominently, Hulk will feature in She-Hulk. She-Hulk is an upcoming American superhero film directed by Rachel Talalay that stars Jessica Stroup as Jennifer Walters and her alter-ego named “The Savage She-Hulk! ”
Stroup will play a district attorney who, after nearly being killed by two assassins working for the mob boss she was prosecuting, receives a life-saving blood transfusion from her cousin Dr. Bruce Banner A.K.A. “The Incredible Hulk!”. So, surely Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk will be a big part of the movie. Furthermore, we hope to get to see a small cameo from Holland’s Spider-Man marking his homecoming in the MCU.
