Disney plus have many shows planned, but they aren’t branching out but are deeply rooted in the premise of future Marvel Films, as per Kevin Feige.
We all know that Disney is launching his standalone streaming platform Disney plus. But wait, Kevin Feige confirms that fans will need to watch Disney Plus shows to keep up with the upcoming Marvel movies. Disney announced a slate of new Marvel shows after the launch of Disney plus. The new platform contains movies and TV shows, including a handful of but not all Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.
For the past 10 years, Marvel Studios have been putting out films almost every year, and more recently, they’ve even ramped up their output to three releases a year. So now MCU fans will need Disney+ in order for the continuity of the movies to make sense.
The Marvel Studios are producing series like WandaVision, The Falcon, Winter Soldier, Loki, and Hawkeye. This will bring superheroes from the MCU films to television for the first time. Marvel Studios have been putting out films almost every year from the past 10 years, they’ve even ramped up their output to three releases a year.
What Feige said about Disney plus shows?
In a recent interview, Marvel chief creative officer Kevin Feige made it clear that fans need to watch the upcoming Disney plus series to catch up with ongoing MCU movies. He said, “If you want to understand everything in future Marvel movies, he says, you’ll probably need a Disney+ subscription because events from the new shows will factor into forthcoming films such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The Scarlet Witch will be a key character in that movie, and Feige points out that the Loki series will tie in, too. “I’m not sure we’ve actually acknowledged that before.”
While the “Doctor Strange” sequel, starring Benedict Cumberbatch is on its way, the “Loki” series will tie into the movie. It appears in some cases that projects originally envisioned as movies could be redeveloped into television series. Such is the case with “Hawkeye.”MCU first launched in 2008 in which each film was relatively isolated from one another, with references to other characters. In the Marvel movies, the biggest connections were the post-credits scenes that helped tie the universe together.
How intricate the MCU is?
Nearly two dozen films later, the events of each film are intrinsically linked with one another, under the assumption that fans will have already seen every adventure that came before it. Disney has built a massive content library with Marvel, Star Wars, and Fox titles and promoting Disney+. By understanding future films in its biggest ongoing franchise, the MCU is making fans subscribe to its streaming service. Disney thinks it will increase the audience for both.
With the new series coming in the Disney Plus series, they are keeping up with the old MCU movies. There’s a series like Agents of SHIELD, which managed to be good in its own right. Some of the MCU shows like Daredevil, The Punisher, Jessica Jones will technically be in the MCU. It looks like they will have some crossover in Disney plus. The Disney plus era is going to be a lot different.
Till now there are no release dates for any Disney+ MCU series revealed. The next Marvel movie opening in theaters is the “Black Widow” prequel film. From our latest sources, we get to know that Luke is soon to replace Hulk in the new Avengers. The upcoming Marvel Studios projects include Black Widow. Feige says that it will be the first time they’ve to acknowledge how important Disney+ offerings will be for the larger MCU picture.
