Rocketman to Oscar-man?
Elton John is already an early contender for best original soundtrack at the Oscars this year with the soundtrack for his biopic ‘Rocketman’.
With the recently announced track listing for ‘The Lion King’ soundtrack, it is revealed that Elton and lyricist Tim Rice did write a new song for the upcoming remake. The song is titled “Never Too Late” and will be performed by Elton himself.
His song, “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again” for ‘Rocketman’ is already a front-runner for this year’s Oscar and now with “Never Too Late”, it seems like Elton might just take his second Oscar this year.

Interestingly, Elton previously won an Oscar in the same category for the original animated movie ‘The Lion King’. He had three of the five nominations that year.
