The producers of the Fast and Furious series are looking for a way to get into outer space in the next films and that’s where Elon Musk comes in.
It seems like the Fast and Furious franchise is going to the next level with Elon Musk. The American media franchise revolves around illegal street racing, heists, and spies. The producers of the Fast and Furious series are looking for a way to get into outer space in the next films. And there’s own pop-culture name that they are banking to launch them – Tesla and SpaceX entrepreneur Elon Musk.
“It won’t be a surprise if the series ends with all of them flying to the moon.”
The franchise has come up with 9 movies. Fast and Furious movies are known for pushing boundaries with Elon Musk. In the last movie (Fast and Furious 8) there were two simply outrageous stunts – hundreds of self-driving cars crashing through a city and a submarine bursting through the ice while chasing Dom and his friends. There were hidden tanks and bank vault chases in previous parts which set the same tone.
The Fast and Furious started back in 2001 focusing on racing and love for cars. What started as a standalone film, quickly culminated into a franchise. The series has been commercially successful and is Universal’s biggest franchise, with a combined gross of over $5 billion.
The Man Behind the Plan
Chris Morgan is writing the script of the Fast and Furious movies since Tokyo Drift in 2006. He is intimately familiar with the challenge of needing to push the boundaries. In an interview, he explained about the rules is he’s unwilling to break when it comes to the outrageousness of his stunts.
“I’m a big action guy and a big action fan and I love physics too, by the way. I think the limiter for me is that we will bend to physics and never outright break it-break it. So how do you determine that? Well, for me, while you’re watching the movie and while you’re watching the action sequence, does something happen that’s so physically impossible or absurd that it breaks faith with the audience? That you suddenly can no longer enjoy the movie and you don’t care about the characters because of that breakage,” Morgan added.
Just when you thought Fast & Furious couldn’t get more daring, screenwriter Chris Morgan has said that the film series might see Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto. The gang travels to space one day with Elon Musk in Fast and Furious series. The ninth movie will see Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez return and will also star Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, and Helen Mirren.
Elon Musk, love for car and space
The self-made billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk is known for his pioneering work in tech and science space. Tesla and SpaceX Chief is often compared to the Marvel superhero, Tony Stark. The 48-year-old even made a cameo in Iron Man 2 as himself coming face-to-face with Tony Stark’s character. I
“Elon Musk brain is overflowing with deep space thoughts.”
Electric vehicle technology has evolved significantly and there are many manufacturers who have launched the electric models. Using EVs in the Fast & Furious franchise could be a smart move. Potentially, the insanely fast Tesla Roadster will be the hero car of the film. It seems like Fast and furious team would need Elon musk help.
Fast & Furious in Space
There are no details of the upcoming Fast & Furious spin-off. Vin Diesel is the only confirmed cast member who will be back for his role as Dominic Toretto. It would be interesting if another main series cast like Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, and Michelle Rodriguez will approve of a Fast & Furious. There are speculations that Elon Musk would be joining them in the next Fast and Furious Movie.
While a space adventure for Dominic Toretto and crew might happen at some stage, it won’t be the currently-untitled ninth Fast & Furious movie. The series is known for its outrageous stunts and over the top action, set-pieces are comparable to the Mission: Impossible movies.
Plans for Fast and Furious 9
In the latest Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, Brixton Lore was a super-soldier created by Eteon who served as the main antagonist.
“There’d be no easier way to do this, however, than leaving Earth’s atmosphere.”
The studio now has 2 options, one is that they can return to the smaller scope of the first couple of films, bringing the franchise full circle as it comes to a close. Second is that they can go even bigger and more bombastic, going out with a literal bang like Elon Musk in Fast and Furious franchise.
Musk’s Dom and Hobbs connection
It is extremely unclear, but the tech leader Elon Musk tweeted a disturbing collage of photographs that show his face Photoshopped onto Fast and Furious star The Rock’s very fit body. He captioned, “Yeah, I lift a little …”
To which Rock replied, “beast” and a “handsome SOB,”
Musk and The Rock seemed to use this opportunity to seriously bond with each other. It seems like Elon Musk is getting ready for the Fast and Furious. Look again and you may think Musk has been taking his training regimen a little too seriously.
