There’s massive star power in Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and ladies and Gentlemen behold, Keanu Reeves is playing Supervillain Nightmare.

With the end on Phase 3, the MCU bid farewell to iconic stars like Iron Man aka Robert Downey Jr. and Captain America aka Chris Evans. So now beginning with Phase 4, Marvel and Kevin Feige need new A-listers to make sense and gather fandom for the new releases. And the answer is not Superheroes. It’s supervillains. MCU now wants a global name to fight Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness release. So, they have three names on their mind (one will get you into a frenzy). Read Keanu Reeves, and yes, he’s coming to Dr. Strange 2 and MCU, most probably.
Benedict Cumberbatch’s Dr. Strange was arguably a late entry into the Marvel cadre. So, while the bigger and more famous names have completed their storylines and contracts, folks like the Doc are still midway. But Dr. Strange had a big part to play in the final Avengers movies and has quickly become a fan favourite. So now Marvel has him as the man to replace the big guns.
Who will Dr. Strange fight in Multiverse of Madness?
We already know that Dr. Strange has an intimate link with WandaVision which will be clear with Part 2. There has been further added fire to speculation that Scarlet Witch will undertake a full-blooded transformation into Dark Phoenix in Dr. Strange 2. But she isn’t going to play the Supervillain to take on Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Recent reports instead point towards Nightmare as being the foe who the reality shifter will take on.
So, who is Nightmare? Well, he’s the evil ruler of the Dream Dimension. He presides over a region where people tormented get stuck in while asleep. His persona is scary. White skin colour, bamboozled green hair, a torn-out cape, and a bodysuit. How they both get intertwined? A peasant comes to Dr. Strange for help to relieve his from odd dreams where he sees Nightmare.
The Strange Nightmarish Connection
Strangle learns that Nightmare is a supervillain who loves capturing and tormenting poor souls in his dream dimension. Most of his tormented folks are guilty themselves of some form of crime. So, in the story, where Nightmare takes in prisoners, Strange is the one who gives them freedom. However, the freer becomes the tormented when Dr. Strange finds Nightmare appears in his dreams and tortures him.
But why would we love to see that happen to Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness? Yes, you guessed it right. Because of the star power that would be Supervillain Nightmare holds. So, Ladies and Gentlemen behold, Keanu Reeves is going to play Nightmare. And that’s most probably going to be the truth. As per reports, Reeves is a frontrunner compared to the other two names David Tennant, and Matt Smith.
Why we’re so optimistic about Keanu Reeves in Multiverse Madness?
That’s because of multiple reports that Feige has added Keanu Reeves to the top of his Marvel Star Wishlist. And he wants Keanu to not have even a tinge of righteousness this time. Instead, he wants Keanu Reeves to be a supervillain. Marvel has been trying to woo Keanu for years now and might finally have made some advances. However, the only problem as per us, they’ll have to cajole Reeves to dye his silky black hair green.
With DC also in the mix hoping to steal Keanu Reeves from under Marvel’s hands, Feige is determined to have the global sensation as a major cast in at least one movie.
While Reeves has his heart set on Constantine revival, roping him into the MCU would be a dream come true for the Studios and Feige. It will be his gift to the geeks and comic book fans of the world. Moreover, the guy is too big to only play one villain and be done with. Furthermore, Keanu Reeves doesn’t wish to be typecast for an entire phase of MCU. So there is further speculation that Reeves could be seen in a number of different roles in an ongoing floating contract with Marvel Studios. For more on that, stay tuned.
