In comic cannons, The New Mutants went down in history as Marvel’s first spin-off series of the X-Men storyline. So, it brought a breath of fresh air to the mutant world with a bunch of gifted teenagers taking up the mantle of X-Men from the older, middle-aged lot. It was a matter of time before a movie on The New Mutants hit the theatres.
Then things expedited and the movie was all set to premiere on the 13th of April 2018 before the delay train hit its fate. How Ka-Zar might fit in the plotline?
Speculation is intense that Disney is mulling the opportunity that Ka-Zar’s Savageland presents as a future movie franchise. But the X-Men member closely resembles the well-known character of Tarzan. So, putting him into the fold needs to be a careful approach for the bosses at Marvel. In fact, a dull version similar to the much-squeezed Tarzan will result in the failure of the Ka-Zar franchise at the outset.
So, Ka-Zar first surfaced in the comic book world with Ka-Zar #10 in 1956. He is spotted by explorers with his sabre-toothed tiger in Antarctica. Then on, X-Men targeted bringing him into their fold after an epic battle in the Savageland where they joined Ka-Zar’s forces where he saves the Marvel Girl.

How Marvel Might Bring Back Crossbones From The Dead?
Why Marvel and Disney would want to test the waters before betting big on Ka-Zar?
In terms of potential, however, Ka-Zar and Savageland offers a world of possibilities. The Savageland is full of animals extinct in the rest of the world – dinosaurs, mammoths, giant lizards and sabre-toothed tigers. So if Disney manages to create a CGI experience of such multitude on screen, it will bring in unprecedented audience. But first, they need to ensure that the timing is right and how the audience respond to Ka-Zar in The New Mutants.
Furthermore, Ka-Zar also owned the anti-metal Vibranium. So, that makes him an automatic crossover contender in a future Black Panther or Falcon and Winter Soldier movie. Moreover, Ka-Zar hides the Vibranium in Savageland. Likewise, that itself opens up the possibility of other Avengers also joining Ka-Zar and X-Men among the gigantic ancient flora and fauna of Savageland.
