The 2019 Emmy Awards were a huge disappointment and there were some winners at the awards who didn’t deserve but still won.
The 2019 Emmy Awards is a huge disappointment to the viewers who expressed their displeasure on the internet. This year’s Emmy Awards were expected to be the most exciting. There were some winners at the awards who didn’t deserve but still won.
The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards were very strange, without a host for the show, there were bumps and awkward moments. This Emmys show host Thomas Lennon had enlisted to provide live voiceover commentary on the ceremony, wasn’t even the first entertainer to use the word “sucks” to describe the Emmys on the Emmys. The late-night host Jimmy Kimmel offered his own (apparently scripted) review: “I’m sorry, but this show sucks!”
These are winners at the Emmy who didn’t deserve
GOT wins best drama series. Better call Saul and Bodyguard were better.
The final season was a huge let down for the GOT fans. Although the series received 32 nominations, It just won two but did not deserve even one. The era of Game of Thrones ended long before the show itself did. 2019 Emmy winner disappointment as we had better winners for The Best Drama Series that includes Better Call Saul and Bodyguard.
Better Call Saul is based on the most popular character in Breaking Bad and its prequel Better Call Saul is “fixer” Mike Ehrmantraut, who is played brilliantly by Jonathan Banks. The show is a big hit with the Television Academy. Bodyguard is one of the shows touted to win an Emmy. The political crime drama was neatly-crafted and boasted of a slick, well-assembled plot. It is termed as “an absorbing and addicting psychological thriller.”
The Game of Thrones era is over at least until the prequels dominate the Emmys in the 2020s.
Fleabag wins the best comedy. But Marvelous Mrs. Maisel was more deserving
‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ has upped its game for the 71st Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards with 20 nominations. The highlights of the comedy series are its clever dialogues, through which the actors make path-breaking statements with a touch of humor.
While Fleabag creator and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge won for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series and took home a second award for writing the series.
Best actor drama- Billy Porter. Should’ve gone to Sterling K Brown for THIS IS US
American actor Sterling K. Brown has won 12 awards out of 24 nominations. He is the first actor in a broadcast television series to win the award in a decade and the first African-American winner in 19 years. For the show ‘This Is Us’, Sterling K. Brown is nominated for the second time for outstanding lead actor in a drama series for their work on this year’s Emmy Awards. He keeps getting nominated in the same category, so this could mean that is a deserving candidate.
Billy Porter also made history as the first openly gay black man to win an Emmy for best actor in a drama for his role in Pose.
Jharrel Jerome wins lead actor in limited series. Benicio del Toro for Escape at Dannemora was more deserving.
Benicio del Toro is a veteran in his field and has done a tremendous job. He one of the most dynamic and convincing actor and has earned critical accolades throughout his career. He has won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Steven Soderbergh’s TRAFFIC, as well as an Oscar nomination for his work in Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu’s 21 GRAMS.
While Jharrel Jerome took home the award for lead actor in a limited series for When They See Us during. Jerome said that though he won, working on the series was a team effort. This win marks the first time that the actor has won an Emmy Award.
Ozark wins the best direction. Should’ve gone to killing eve
Jason Bateman took home the prize for best directing for Ozark at the 71st annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Ozark beat out fellow nominees Game of Thrones (HBO), Killing Eve (BBC America), Succession (HBO) and The Handmaid’s Tale (Hulu).
Killing Eve is a British spy thriller television series. The 2019 Emmy winner disappointment did not help Killing Eve getting the Award. The first season of Killing Eve received critical acclaim. Killing Eve returns for an enthralling second season of considerably higher stakes, hilariously dark humor and a captivating dynamic between characters, solidifying its position as one of the best spy thrillers out. The show was one of the most thrilling shows on television in 2018.
Kim Kardashian at Emmy 2019
Kim Kardashian remarked on stage that her family knows first-hand how compelling TV becomes once the people are their REAL self. The Audience invariably mocked and laughed at her for this. Proves that the audience is not stupid and knows what’s going on behind the camera. Kim Kardashian who wore a black Vivienne Westwood gown said, “Our family knows first-hand how truly compelling television comes from real people just being themselves…” This was followed by abrupt laughter from the audience before her sister completed her sentence.
Kendall Jenner who wore a latex floral gown by Richard Quinn completed, “… Telling their stories unfiltered and unscripted.”
Significantly less attendance this year
Last night was TV’s biggest night. The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards will honor the best dramas, comedies, limited and variety series of the last year in television. This year’s award had less attendance compared to the previous one.
The reason behind this low attendance is probably because people are aware of the biases that award shows have created around the most famed TV Shows.
