Hercule Poirot masterpiece Death on the Nile’s Hollywood reenactment sees a new couple genesis as Wonder Woman Gal Gadot stars alongside Lone Ranger Armie Hammer.
Gal Gadot will now be seen starring opposite to Armie Hammer in mystery film, Death on the Nile. The movie will be a sequel to their version of Murder on the Orient Express. Death on the Nile is the latest adaption of Agatha Christie’s novel. The movie is set up at 20th Century Fox with Kenneth Branagh directing and reprising the role of well-known Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot.

The movie came together last year as the studio was finding success with Murder on the Orient Express. The movie grossed $352.8 million worldwide with Kenneth Branagh at the helm and also playing master detective Hercule Poirot.
Death on the Nile was originally published in 1937 which shows Kenneth Branagh (Poirot) on vacation in Egypt. He’s off the clock from his detective duties, but when there’s a murder, he finds he can’t turn his back on investigating. The murder happened on a luxurious cruise on the Nile River. The 1978 movie version of Death on the Nile starred Peter Ustinov as Poirot.
The story revolves around apparently a love triangle between two young women who are old friends and a young man who is engaged to one of them
Gal Gadot roleplay in Death on the Nile
20th Century Fox has announced the release date for Death on the Nile on December 20, 2019. Death on the Nile includes Gal Gadot playing Linnet Ridgeway Doyle, a rich heiress who falls in love with Simon. Armie Hammer and Letitia Wright have joined the cast of the film as Simon Doyle and Rosalie Otterbourne. Russell Brand is in talks to join, but his role is not yet decided.
Gal Gadot is currently shooting for Wonder Woman 1984. She will be seen in the lead role of Death on the Nile. In the movie, Gal Gadot(Linnet Ridgeway Doyle) marries her former best friend’s fiancée, Armie Hammer (Simon Doyle).
It will be hard to match the 1978 all-star lineup, but Kenneth Branagh is on the right track, recruiting Gadot. The Israeli actress wowed audiences as Diana Prince in Wonder Women as well as 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Armie Hammer is the male lead in Death on the Nile. He recently appeared in Boots Riley’s Sorry to Bother You and also stars in Hotel Mumbai due out early next year.
Death on the Nile is a detective fiction book written by Agatha Christie. The story was originally published in 1937. The novel was adapted as a feature film which was released in 1978 starring Peter Ustinov for the first of his six appearances as Poirot. The screenplay differs slightly from the book, deleting several characters.
In November 2017 announced that 20th Century Fox that they are making the movie again. Filming has not yet begun, but there’s been some movement in production.
Death on the Nile (1978)
The movie takes place in Egypt, mostly on the Nile River. In Death on the Nile, Hercule Poirot, the Belgian detective is approached by Linnet Doyle, played by Gal Gadot. She married her friend, Jacqueline’s fiancé, Simon Doyle, which has made Jacqueline bitterly resentful. Linnet requests in deterring her friend Jacqueline de Bellefort from hounding and stalking her, but he refuses.
Simon and Linnet secretly board a Steamer along the Nile, to escape Jacqueline, but find she had learned of their plans and boarded ahead of them. Along with them, Poirot was also traveling on the steamer. The movie encounters a twist when Linnet is found dead, having been shot in the head, while her valuable string of pearls has disappeared. As Jacqueline was on the steamer and considered as a viable suspect. Of course, Simon is the prime suspect.
Linnet’s maid Louise Bourget could have the pearls, and all the other passengers initially seem to have equally good motives and opportunities. Louise soon also gets murdered. Now Poirot has to determine who has done this.
The chemistry between Gal Gadot and Armie Hammer
Gal Gadot and Armie Hammer have joined the cast of 20th Century Fox’s Death on the Nile. This is the first time they both will be seen together. They both come under the A list casting category. Gal Gadot has achieved a new milestone, becoming one of the world’s highest-earning actresses. She is the only newcomer on the list of Forbes.
Armie Hammer seemed poised for movie stardom thanks to his poster-boy looks. Hammer landed two of his first major roles at polar opposite ends of the dramatic spectrum, one playing the young Christian evangelical minister Billy Graham in actor-turned-director Robby Benson’s chronicle of Graham’s early life, Billy: The Early Years (2008), and another playing the son of Satan on the small screen fantasy adventure series Reaper. He was next seen as Clyde Tolson in Clint Eastwood’s biopic J. Edgar in 2011.
