Constantine 2 is in works at Warner Bros while Keanu Reeves is supposed to reprise his character John Constantine an old rumour suggests that he might also lead the Justice League Dark
Internet’s boyfriend Keanu Reeves is a busy man. He is shooting for Matrix 4, after that he is set to shoot the sequel to John Wick. And amid all this, the news is, Warner Bros’ reviving Constantine. The news broke by actor Peter Stormar’s Instagram account. The actor who played Lucifer in the 2005 cult classic posted a picture with caption ‘Sequel In The Works’. It’s for sure that the actor will not make such a post without studios’ consent.
Constantine 2 Is in Works
In July, director Francis Lawrence had entertained the idea of making a sequel and so did actor Keanu Reeves who played John Constantine. Lawrence spoke to SlashFilms in an interview about having conversations with Keanu Reeves, and producer Akiva Goldsman, “We have been talking about it recently. It’s always stuck with all of us because we all love the movie, and especially realizing there’s a real cult following for this movie, it’d be fun to make.”
The live-action adaptation of the British occult detective left fans wanting for more and certainly has developed a ‘cult-classic’ status. While the Warner Bro is yet to confirm the production status of the Constantine 2, Peter Stormar’s confirmation comes at the heels of many surprises that the studio has been bursting with this year.
WB announced the DC Multiverse with multiple iterations of Batman coming our way. Names such as Zack Snyder, Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck have come back on set recently. So fans can completely expect Keanu Reeves starring as the Hellblazer in Constantine 2.

In a perfect world in 2021 we would have seen Reeves’ Matrix 4 and John Wick 4 on the big screen on the same day. However, getting Keanu Reeves in and as Constantine 2 would be a complete game-changer for the actor. Reeves is wildly wanted in superhero world by fans and DC’s competition Marvel Studios’ too. But given WB’s soaring ambitions and AT&T’s push, the studio would certainly want to keep Reeves not just for a franchise but for more.
Keanu Reeves To Lead Justice League Dark On HBO Max
WB certainly has big plans for its streaming service HBO Max, the director’s cut of Justice League aka the Snyder Cut has been the stepping stone for it. The studio further announced a Spin-off series for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman world. A Green Lantern series is also in works. An old rumour suggests that WB might want a Justice League Dark to be lead by Reeves’ Constantine on HBO Max.
In March, WGTC reported about the studios’ possible interest in the actor for the project. Citing sources the report said,
Not only is Justice League Dark back on the table, but Warner Bros. want Keanu Reeves to lead the team by reprising his role as Constantine.
While, back in the day it sounded like a wild rumour, with DC FanDome event and a new piece of information sprouting from the studio every day – it doesn’t seem farfetched now. Who would not want to see Keanu Reeves not only in Constantine 2 but also rubbing shoulders with characters like Batman, Zatanna and Superman in Justice League Dark!
