Marvel Studios had a busy Thursday as Head Kevin Feige confirmed new MCU heroes and villains
2020 had been a dull year without any movies and gossip churning out of Hollywood. While WB made some game-changing decisions this year, Disney had kept all of its major announcements under wraps for Investor Day. Finally, Marvel Studios came out with its plans focused on the new streaming service Disney+. While Kevin Feige rolled out the roadmap for MCU Phase 4 & 5 he also confirmed many rumoured characters and actors who are playing them.

Below 7 new MCU heroes and villains that are confirmed to show up in Phase 4 & 5.

Kate Bishop – Hailee Steinfeld, Hawkeye
It was curious to see Feige confirming Hailey Steinfeld as MCU’s Kate Bishop after the set photos were leaked. Nonetheless, Steinfeld was a fan favourite since the project was announced in 2019 Comic-Con. Introduced in Disney+ Hawkeye series Steinfeld will go on the big screen possibly in the Young Avengers lineup. The Disney+ setup seems to sway towards introducing new heroes in the MCU.

Tatiana Maslany – She-Hulk
It was more curious to see Marvel President confirming another fan favourite Tatiana Maslany as the She-Hulk on Disney+. Maslany very recently had denied the rumours of her playing the titular role in the Disney+ series. However, fans have seen actors denying the role they ended up playing in the past.
She-Hulk will be a comedy series and MCU’s actual big green, Mark Ruffalo will also be a part of the series along with Abomination and many cameos are expected.

Xochitl Gomez – America Chavez, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
While trade reports confirmed Xochitl Gomez’s casting in the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Feige confirmed her playing America Chavez. In the comic America Chavez can travel Multiverse on her whim and the character will be a prized addition to the cast and MCU’s future.

Dominique Thorne –Ironheart
Ironheart had been long rumoured to be in works at the Marvel Studio. Finally, Feige confirmed a Disney+ series is on the way for fans. MCU’s Ironheart aka Ri Ri Williams can be Iron Man’s prodigy. With an advanced suit of her own, she is going to give both Peter Parker and Shuri a run for their money. By far Dominique Throne has been announced to play the titular character.

Iman Vellani – Ms Marvel
When trade magazines reported on Iman Vellani’s possible MCU future as Ms Marvel she was instantly accepted by fandom and OG Avengers like Mark Ruffalo. Feige confirmed her addition as the titular character in Disney+ Ms Marvel series. Not only that Feige further announced she’ll be joining Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel 2 along with Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau.

Christian Bale – Gorr The God Butcher, Thor: Love & Thunder
Marvel Studios would have really impressed Christian Bale for him to reenter the superhero world. DC’s most successful Batman by far would now be MCU’s Gorr The God Butcher. Valkyrie actor Tess Thompson accidentally revealed Bale will be the villain of next Thor sequel Love & Thunder. Bale was recently spotted in Australia where the Thor actors and director Taika Waititi got together for the movie preparations. Thor: Love & Thunder will start shooting January 2021.

Jonathan Majors – Kang The Conqueror, Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania
In September Deadline reported Jonathan Majors’ possible casting as villain Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man 3. During the Disney Investor Day presentation Kevin Feige revealed official title of the movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. He further affirmed Major’s casting as time travelling Marvel villain Kang the Conqueror.
With these amazing talent additions to the MCU, Marvel and Disney makes sure superhero world won’t be the same starting 2021.
