Here’s how the Black Widow post credit scene can set up Thunderbolt Ross into the Marvel Cinematic Expanded Universe
Well, the Black widow is just around the corner and related leaks and theories are on an all-time high. Recently, the new look of the movie gave us a glimpse of the Taskmaster’s comic book accurate costume and also makes us wonder about the sword he is holding.
But for now, let’s focus on another character whose glimpse we saw in the Black Widow trailer and can’t stop wondering about. We’ve seen General Thaddeus Ross in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since The Incredible Hulk days to Civil War up till Avengers: Infinity War.
Though the Black Widow movies follow Natasha Romanoff on a run post Captain America: Civil War days its suppose to kick start phase 4 for the MCU. It’s evident that Ross would be in the movie but what’s amusing to see is the leaked photos from the set where actor William Hurt is seen using a cane to walk.

This makes the fans to speculate that it looks like the effects of deteriorating health or effects of the Gama ray radiations and as the comic book character goes Thunderbolt Ross would do anything to survive.
But since the movie is going to cover various time points between Civil War and Infinity war we can’t be sure where this scene could be placed.

The Hulk Universe
We’ve seen the character arc of the green hulk but did you know director Joe and Anthony Russo almost turned him into Red Hulk in Avengers Infinity Wars. The scene was shot but later removed from the film. Joe Russo told ComicBook, “We had so many characters in that movie as it was. We consider everything, obviously, but with so many characters in that movie as it was to try and entertain adding another character and to get to the Red Hulk, you have to add a back story.”
Did you read the signs there? The character needs a ‘back story’ and what better way would be to portray the back story when you are actually going back in time with Black Widow. The Black Widow movie could directly tie into She-Hulk Disney Plus project and even before we know Thunderbolt Ross and his villains can come on screen to life.
Thunderbolts In MCU
Ross’s appearance is already confirmed in Disney Plus’ She-Hulk and the Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Given the villain for Black Widow movie is none other than Taskmaster – a villainous member of the Thunderbolts. Coupled with Zemo’s presence in the Falcon and The Winter Soldier – seems like it’s a full house of Thunderbolts.
A Black Widow post credit scene in the upcoming movie to set up Ross in the Disney Plus series is what we can completely expect out of Marvel Studios. Can’t we?
