Adam Warlock and Thanos are both invincible. At one time they were bitter rivals, and at one time they became great friends. But who wins a fight between the two?
The Marvel comic is widely inhabited by characters which are beyond our imagination. They are the cosmic beings, having powers that our mortal minds are unable to comprehend. Similarly, some of the powerful characters include Thanos and Adam Warlock. Consequently, they are the beings that aren’t easy to defeat.
How Adam Warlock came into MCU?
Adam Warlock is one of the oldest characters to appear in Marvel Comics. His appearance was first seen in Fantastic Four (1966–67) known as ‘Him’. Adam is a synthetic being created by human scientists called “The Enclave”. He was an ideal template for a new race of humans who will rule the Earth. Also, he was formed in and born from a cocoon.
The aim of ‘The Enclave’ was argued to be good, but their means to achieve the goal is corrupt and evil. After ‘Him’ broke out of his cocoon, he comes across with the truth as to how corrupt were his creators. He abandons them to leave for space for the purpose of gathering his thoughts.
After some time, Adam discovers the existence of the Asgardian goddess Sif and decides he wants her to be his mate. This made Thor, the Asgardian God of Thunder, very angry. Their tiff results in a battle. ‘Him’ apparently couldn’t beat the God of Thunder. Thus, he passively escapes by creating a cocoon around himself.
After a restorative hiatus in his cocoon, ‘Him’ is given the name “Warlock” by the High Evolutionary and gifted the Soul Gem. Then it’s off to Counter-Earth, where Warlock serves as the planet’s first hero. Moreover, Adam is one of the most influential characters in all of Marvel with his flashier iron-suited, tights-wearing, adamantium-claw-sinking appearance.
The first to have Soul Stone, no other character has been intricately linked to the Stones, not even Thanos. So, Warlock was the first name when they first appeared on the galactic scene.
Thanos is one of the most powerful villains in the Marvel Universe. Thus, he has clashed with many heroes including the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men. Also, he is the son of Eternals A’lars. Furthermore, he carries the genes of the Deviants and shares the physical appearance of the Eternals’ cousin race.
Thereafter, Thanos augmented his physical strength and powers through his superior scientific knowledge. However, he tried to create a new life for himself by adopting two children – Gamora and Nebula.
Adam Warlock’s relationship with the Soul Stone
Soul stone has always remained one of the greatest mysteries in the MCU. In the comics, its location was always known to be in Warlock’s forehead. With the soul stone Warlock was has capabilities to manipulate matter and energy making him one of the most lethal beings in the universe and so Thanos wanted it.
With his power over cosmic energy transmutation, he can control non-cosmic matter that borderlines on the purest form of alchemy. He also had enhanced speed and strength along with ultra-awareness.
Adam Warlock and Thanos Friendship
After Infinity Gauntlet (Marvel comic series), things went haywire for Adam. Firstly, he gives up Godhood and disperses the stones. In addition, he physically manifests his evil and good thoughts as a new Magus and an entity named Goddess. Thereafter, the Infinity War breaks out, led by new Magus using the Infinity Gauntlet.
Adam has to rely on his sworn-enemy-turned-good-pal, Thanos
When Goddess tries to destroy every living being in existence, Adam Warlock gives his Soul Gem to Thanos to play an intricate role in saving the universe. In Infinity Revelation (another series), they both go on a trip through space and time. Their aim is to demolish alternate versions of each other in order to save each other. Because that’s what friends are for.
Thanos’ fight for the Soul stone
Thanos entered Adam’s life as an ally to Warlock, whose intention was to steal the Soul Stone’s power from Adam. However, with his soul stone, Thanos combined the Soul Gem with the other Infinity Gems to create a cosmic weapon known to destroy stars.
Furthermore, when he discovers Thanos’ intentions, Gamora was deeply wounded by him. Before dying, she warned Warlock about Thanos’ intentions.
Adam Warlock vs Thanos
Thanos has immense strength, speed, stamina, immortality, and invulnerability among other qualities. Moreover, he can absorb vast quantities of cosmic energy and is capable of telepathy.
Moreover, Adam Warlock is a cosmic entity with a moral view for an ideal human civilization opposite of Thanos. Thus, Warlock would choose to put Thanos down if he holds the Titan at his mercy.
The conclusion of the fight will be based on a few conditions. For instance, if Thanos and Warlock meet, the Mad Titan may succeed in killing Adam with a soul stone. However, if Adam gets time to strategize and counter-attack, he may come out of this victorious.
