The Avengers vs X-men have long been on different sidelines fighting off a plethora of criminal masterminds and as*holes. They have been on the same side of the battle time and again but how much do you know about the fantastic crossover?
Marvel comics have brought them face to face killing off main characters and building a new world out of the old. This comic book storyline has massive effects on the Marvel Comics universe as we know it today. This is Avengers vs X-Men.
It all begins with the entity Dark Phoenix. This immortal being has taken countless lives including that of Jean Grey, Wolverine’s true love.
Dark Phoenix comes to Earth
The story begins when Sam Alexander aka Nova crashes on planet Earth with the news that Dark Phoenix is moving towards planet Earth. This leads to the Avengers going for a visit to Utopia and taking the news to discuss the plan of action with the X men. This leads to an iconic battle: Avengers vs X-Men.
Avengers and the X-men decide that the reason it’s coming for Earth is to get inside Hope Summers. While both the sides agree on those terms, they are unable to decide what to do about it. Avengers believe that they need to take Hope Summers in for a secure lockdown if they are to save Earth.
Going forward on this argument, they must decide the fate of Hope Summers and Cyclops believes her to be the messiah of the Mutants. Specifically, Cyclops goes against Captain America, fighting him in a duel which leads to the Cap saying those iconic words, calling upon the heroes of the world. Avengers vs X-Men.
Avengers vs X-Men
The Avengers fight against the X-men as a team. Emma Frost leads her part in hiding Hope Summers to save her from the people trying to take her away. Spiderman and Wolverine end up finding her as the battle between X-men and Avengers rages on. Instead of surrendering, Hope Summers uses some of the Phoenix force inside of her to fight them off and flees from Utopia.
The battle comes to a halt as there is nothing left in Utopia to fight over. Everybody comes together to try and find her.
Secret Avengers
All the while the Avengers and the X-men are fighting each other and later, trying to find Hope, a space battle rages on with full power. Thor and the secret Avengers are in space trying to stop the Dark Phoenix from coming to planet Earth. Secret Avengers want to stop dark phoenix from getting to planet Earth altogether.
Captain America vs Wolverine
This is a battle for the ages that everybody who enjoys Marvel universe will marvel over. Captain America and Captain America are unable to decide how to handle Hope when they find her and a fatal battle ensues. While Wolverine wants to finish her off from the face of the planet so nobody is effected by The Phoenix Force.
Captain America believes that there is a chance to save her still. While an immensely tense battle ensues, Captain knocks him out with the Help of Giant man with a kick in the groin. This leads to Hope finding Wolverine all on her own.
Her motive is to absorb the Phoenix Force altogether and try to control it rather than letting it control Summers. Her only request: to kill her if she goes out of control. What happens next will blow your mind completely…
