Brad Pitt travels on a mission to search for his missing father in the trailer of ‘Ad Astra’.
The first trailer for sci-fi drama ‘Ad Astra ‘ which shows Brad Pitt as an astronaut who travels to the outer edges of the solar system to find his missing father and unravels a mystery that threatens the survival of our planet.

Movie Director James Gray wants
‘Ad Astra’ to have “the most realistic depiction of space travel.”
The plot concerns something called the LIMA project, which Astronaut Roy McBride (Brad Pitt) father, Clifford (Tommy Lee Jones), captained. The mission was meant to hunt for advanced extraterrestrial life, but it disappeared about 16 years in, with the crew all presumed dead.

Apparently Clifford McBride may be very much alive and responsible for a series of catastrophic power surges on Earth that have killed a lot of people. Now Roy has to head into space to destroy LIMA project completely that would also mean destroying his own father.

The supporting cast for the movie includes Tommy Lee Jones, Ruth Negga, Donald Sutherland, and Jamie Kennedy.

The film is Brad Pitt’s second big release of 2019 after Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.“

20th Century Fox originally set “Ad Astra” for 11th January 2019 before pushing back the release date to May 24. Disney moved the opening to September last month following its acquisition of Fox. Now the movie will release in theaters on September 20, 2019.
