John Krasinski has been in talks with the peeps at Marvel for a potential role. Fans have started hypothesizing all the possible characters the Jack Ryan actor can play.
Who would have thought that a thin, tall, and dorky guy from The Office who has a weird camera stare could come very close to being Captain America? Oh wait, that would have been perfect! Yes, our favourite Jim Halpert was to become The First Avenger before Chris Evans ran past him *on his left*. As reported by The Direct, Krasinski discussed a multitude of projects for his Marvel debut.
It’s a well-known fact that Krasinski was a very close call for Captain America’s role nonetheless, ever since fans have been casting him as Mr Fantastic. So while we wait, here are some characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that John Krasinski can pull-off like a charm.

John Krasinski as Nova
When we think about John, we think of a hero. What better than him joining forces with our favorite Rocket Racoon and Groot? James Gunn had teased the existence of Nova Corps in Guardians of the Galaxy 1, but since we never got an announcement on the intergalactic force.
In the first Guardians, we saw Rhomann Dey, played by John C.Reilly, killed by the Xandar’s army. In the comics, Rhomann transfers all his powers to a human on earth, Richard Rider. This energy by the Nova Corps gives Rider superpowers such as super-human strength and flight. Thus, known as The Nova.
The intergalactic force is lead by a Nova Prime, which was played by Glenn Close in Guardians of the Galaxy 1. Nova’s introduction to the MCU would mean that he will be the new Nova Prime.
Who else to play a leader of the Nova Corps in the Marvel Universe than John Krasinski.
Moon Knight
Fans often term Iron Man as the closest competitor to the Batman. But, there is a character with a much clearer similarity to the Dark Knight than Tony Stark, and that is Moon Knight. Marc Specter, AKA. The Moon Knight is a vigilante superhero with a myriad of gadgets and superpowers gifted by an Egyptian God.

Initially, a Moon Knight tv show was announced by Marvel in 2006. But then it never saw the light of day. This year Marvel has again announced that the White Vigilante of is getting its show for Disney+.
Scott Summers/Cyclops
In contrast to his comic version, James Marsden’s Scott Summers in X-men(2000) was more of the second in command. In Fox’s version of X-Men, Wolverine played the role of the team leader of the mutants. James’ Cyclops was eclipsed by actors such as Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart as Wolverine and Professor X, respectively.
Now that Marvel has regained all the X-Men characters, we can image John Krasinski as a mature Scott Summers. Wearing the iconic laser mask, Krasinski can lead the new students of Professor X in their adventures in the MCU. Though, Recyclops from The Office may not be too happy about this.
U.S. Agent
As we already know that Krasinski missed the role of Captain America to Chris Evans. It would only be fitting for John Krasinski to play the character of John Walker AKA U.S. Agent. The U.S. Agent is a character that is almost a mimic of Steve Rogers.
The principal difference lies in the fact that U.S. Agent is a bit more patriotic than Cap. Walker is a more rational character than Rogers and would not stop at anything to defend his country. Whereas, Captain America would think a million times before blurring the lines.
Marvel can play around with John Walker in a negative light also. It will allow John Krasinski to portray a negative role in the MCU. It will also be an insight for the fans as to how John would have looked like Captain America. More of a win-win for Marvel fans.
Reed Richards or Mr. Fantastic
John Krasinski can pull off any role that we have previously mentioned, but this one is a little different. Marvel fans have been casting him in the role of Mr Fantastic for years now. Not just that, John Krasinski has himself expressed a wish to play this character on the big screen for the MCU.
If this comes to fruition, we may even see John’s wife Emily Blunt play the role of Storm Richards, AKA Invisible Woman.
A fantastic couple indeed. Kevin Fiege has a golden opportunity to reboot the Fantastic 4 franchise and give it the perfect casting.
Before the MCU we are sure to see more of John Krasinski in the upcoming sequel of his directorial venture – The Quiet Place, in November. In whatever role John Krasinski plays in the Marvel universe, we are excited to see him on the bigger screen. Till then, we wait.
