Ben Affleck or Batfleck is back to DC and is set to reprise his Batman for various upcoming WB movies and shows
The resurrection of Zack Snyder’s Justice League has opened the Pandora box of fan demands. And Warner Bros is duly heeding to their service. What really changed the attitude of the studio towards its declining movie business is the interference of its holding company AT&T. Since May when the Snyder Cut was announced a LOT has changed in WB and its catalogue of DC superheroes. Even the pandemic couldn’t stop the studio from announcing a plethora of new projects. Whilst Ben Affleck has donned the Batman cowl again for Zack Snyder’s four-part mini-series fans still ache for his presence in more DC movies and shows.
Batfleck is undeniably the most comic accurate Batman that we have ever seen. From the jaw line, to barrotone voice, to the cowl and the physique – everything is just perfect! While Robert Pattinson and Michael Keaton are also the caped crusaders that are honing DC’s future, Batfleck stands tall among the lineup of Batmen. So here are 5 rumoured and confirmed upcoming DC projects (movies and shows) Ben Affleck is set to appear in next as Batman
Zack Snyder’s Justice League – Confirmed
The Snyder Cut is set as the epitome of fan created movements. It rarely happens that a big league production like WB gives into fans demands. But indeed the mythical cut of director’s vision is coming to life. Snyder’s Justice league casts the originals and a plethora of missing characters from the theatrical cut. Recently, Ben Affleck (Batman), Amber Heard (Mera), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), and Ray Fisher (Cyborg) all returned for additional photography. Snyder in recent interviews revealed that the Bat suit had to be sourced back from museums to be used during the shoots. Zack Snyder’s Justice League premiers on HBO Max on September 5, 2021. It goes without saying much of Batfleck’s future depends on the success of this cut.
Justice League 2 – Rumoured
This brings us to the rumoured Justice League sequel that is in works at WB. Small Screen recently revealed that Ben Affleck has nodded to appear as the Batman in the upcoming sequel of DC’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League 2. Further, the report states Snyder is working on the script with Chris Terrio. And that Affleck and WarnerMedia have agreed on a deal that will see him star as the Dark Knight In JL 2.
The Flash 2022 – Confirmed
The Flash 2022 is DC’s most promising project to date. Starring Ezra Miller and directed by Andy Muschietti the movie is set to take fans to DC Multiverse. Previously, CW’s Crisis on Infinite Earths experimented with the concept and was quite successful. In fact, Ezra Miller made an appearance in the show meeting Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen. While the show did a fantastic job of assimilating various Earths, Miller’s movie is taking a leap further.
The Flash 2022 will feature not one but two Batmen. Both Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck are set to don the Dark Knight cowl for this flick. The movie brings all the DC projects movies as well as shows to Multiverse canon interestingly Muschietti revealed Ben Affleck’s brooding batman has a special emotional spot in it. The Flash is set to release on June 2, 2022 if the virus doesn’t delay it any further.

The Batman on HBO Max– Rumoured
Another rumour that is making its round again is Ben Affleck’s deal with WB for a potential HBO Max series. The streaming platform is the new focus of the studio and its creating a lot of hype with major shows and mini-series coming up starting 2021.
While yet unconfirmed Batfleck’s HBO Max appearance can be a junction of Multiverse connecting Snyder-verse to current DC events in both movies and TV shows. It can also be a guaranty that we’ll see Ben Affleck in and as Batman for about another decade not only in his own series but a cameo in future DC movies and shows as well.
Batman Standalone Movie – Rumoured
This is an absolute priority for fans and WB surely has got a knack for fan service now. For long fans have felt its injustice with Affleck’s Batman to not have a standalone movie. While back in the day Affleck had plans to write, direct and act in his own Batman prequel but after his exit from WB those plans were amended. Matt Reeves was brought in to direct and he chose Robert Pattinson to play the caped crusader.
Portal We Got This Covered reported sometime back that a standalone film can finally be on charts for Ben Affleck given he has the complete control of it. This makes a lot of sense given how WB messed up his initial plans. Nonetheless, fans would love to see Batfleck’s story arch coming to a closure in a feature film.
However, these all projects depend on two factors first, the response to Snyder Cut of HBO Max and also, how many subscribers the platform gets when these shows are released. So for Batfleck fans, undoubtedly the only way to see more of him subscribing to HBO Max is a must!
