Whether it’s the entertaining punchlines or interesting storyline, Hollywood’s comedy movies are a big stress reliever. The comedy genre is so huge and famous in the Hollywood industry that one can even find sub-genres like a romantic comedy, horror comedy or even musical comedy. Here is the list of all-time comedy movies.
Dumb and Dumber (1994)
Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, intellectually-challenged best friends who share an apartment so messy that gangsters aren’t sure how to trash the place; the guys also have a certain problem (not difficult to understand) holding on to jobs. The Farrelly Brothers deliver nonstop, gut-churning laughs for adults as well as kids. They know what’s funny, and then they throw it on screen regardless of how vulgar or political incorrect it is.
Hangover (2009)
The storytelling is really good, weaving a fun mystery full of shocking surprises. The humor gets a little overly crass and vulgar, but most of it works.A kind of boozed-soaked detective story, it’s remarkably engaging, and the trio of leads each bring something to the proceedings — Cooper’s ratty charm, Helms’ stoic uptightness, and Galifinakis’ outer-space musings work remarkably well together. Full of hysterical shenanigans, The Hangover is incredibly entertaining.
Great acting with super hilarious dialogues makes a movie a real entertaining one.
The Mask (1994)
The Mask is a 1994 action comedy film, based on series of comic books published by Dark Horse comics. It is a perfect vehicle for his abilities to play both a lovable loser and a manic menace. Industrial Light and Magic’s special effects are integral to the success of this film. The film delivered enough laughs to become a surprise hit.
You Don’t Mess with Zohan
The story of agent who fakes his own death so he can move to New York and become a hair stylist. Comedian’s greatest contribution to the pairing of slapstick comedy with a message. Sandler’s brand of humor routinely goes for the most obvious joke, yet its still funny, and this film operates as more of a satire than his earlier work.
Home Alone
This movie explores the fantasy of a neglected little boy having an entire house of his own to explore and play in. Its endearing story and a charming performance by Culkin make Home Alone a standout among the usual holiday movie fare. It’s not for the weak-stomached and definitely requires some major suspension of disbelief.
American Pie
American Pie is a hilarious film that is one of the best high school movies I can think of. The story is about 4 friends who make a pact to get laid before their senior year of college ends. Raunchy comedy is a hard genre to pull off, but American Pie does a great job at delivering the laughs and developing interesting characters.
Office Space
Office Space is an outstanding workplace comedy that brilliantly satirizes office life. The writing is also especially good, particularly the dialog; which is quite clever and witty. Overall the film does a great job at satirizing Corporate America, and at finding humor in the mundane. A poignant and timely comedy, Office Space is incredibly smart and funny.
The Wedding Ringer
The Wedding Ringer, an affably crude bromantic comedy with an appealing set of bros. It’s overall a very funny film that was making everyone in the cinema laugh out load countless times throughout.
GHOSTBUSTERS (2016)
Ghostbusters is a reboot of classic 1984 supernatural classic comedy. The four talented female comedians team up to use their knowledge of science and the paranormal to save the city when New York again faces a supernatural invasion. The film has some pretty scary spirit baddies and intense ghostly battles. Movie is entertaining and one can truly enjoy it.
Liar Liar
The Story of lawyer who gets through life by telling many lies. Some of them are little white lies, such as his compliments to his not-so-attractive coworkers on their appearance. The hysterical dialogue, the unforgettable performance by Carrey, and the hilarious situations make this a must watch!
