In a recent interview, Deepika Padukone opens up about her anger towards Bollywood
Bollywood’s diva Deepika Padukone is always appreciated for her amazing work in the films. The actress is currently in London with husband Ranveer Singh for shooting her upcoming film ’83 helmed by Kabir Singh. And now she is making the headline for her recent interview with the magazine.
In the recent interview, the actress talked about her frustration with Bollywood movies and on roles only being offered defined entirely by her ethnicity in Hollywood.

On her frustration with Bollywood and why other actors are not using their power to affect change:
“I feel like a lot of actors are just content with what they do for themselves. I’m not that person. I feel like if I am in a certain place today, I would like to use that. It makes me angry sometimes to see extremely influential and talented people who don’t really try to do anything beyond what they want to do. That’s a personal choice, but it makes me sad.”
On only being offered parts defined entirely by her ethnicity in Hollywood:
“Yes. Or the exotic. The exotic assistant to the detective. I am going to meetings to let people know not just about me, but that there is a whole big world out there beyond America. And they need to see that.”
Moreover, the actress will be next seen in Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Chhapaak’. A film based on acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. She will also feature in Kabir Khan’s ’83’ where she will be playing the role of Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Dev in the film.
