Nashediyon ki jagah jail hai, samaaj nahi: MLA says no apology for stars at Karan Johar’s bash
Filmmaker Karan Johar is known for sharing a great camaraderie with the members of the film fraternity and is often in news for hosting extravagant parties for them. Recently, popular names from Bollywood like Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Vicky Kaushal, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Shahid Kapoor, filmmakers Ayan Mukerji and Zoya Akhtar among others attended a party at Karan’s place.

Karan had shared a video from his house party, last week, where Deepika, Ranbir, and Shahid were seen alongside Ayan Mukerji, Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Malaika Arora.
Videos and pictures from their get together made their way to social media and became viral. Manjinder S Sirsa, sitting MLA of Rajouri Garden, New Delhi, on Tuesday took to Twitter to share a video from the party and accused these actors/filmmakers of being drugged.
“I have requested @CPMumbaiPolice To register FIR against the Bollywood Stars in the video flaunting their drug party…under The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 The party was uploaded by @karanjohar himself on July 28th, 2019,” the MLA tweeted, sharing screenshots of his complaint to the police.
While Congress leader Milind Deora had blasted Sirsa earlier and had tweeted, “My wife was also present that evening (and is in the video). Nobody was in a drugged state so stop spreading lies & defaming people you don’t know! I hope you will show the courage to tender an unconditional apology.”
Soon after, Twitter users rushed to comment section debating over the video. While some posted snapshots from the video claiming that the actors consumed drugs, others said it is a private get together and none of them looks intoxicated.

Now, Sirsa has released a video on his Twitter handle, in which he refuses to apologise to “nashediyon (drug addicts)”. He says in the clip, “Mujhe yeh pata nahi ki jo Milind Deora ke parivaar ke sadasya hai, woh iss video mein kyun maujud tha. Lekin main yeh baat daave se kehna chahta hoon ki yahaan pe Bollywood star nasha kar rahe hai (I don’t know why Milind Deora’s family member was present in this video. But I can vouch for the fact that the Bollywood stars in the video were high on drugs).”
When a Twitter user asked Sirsa why he was concerned about whether the stars were drunk or high on drugs, he responded, “They are public figures! They are called ‘stars’ and they enjoy many privileges. Don’t they lecture us on every issue from their verified twitter handles? So today they are answerable to every Indian for their drug-affected stoned look as visible in video.”
Sirsa also said that Karan and his guests should get a dope test done and share the reports on Twitter.
The celebs are yet to react to the controversy.
