‘Mental Hai Kya’ has been involved in a series of controversies. Earlier, Indian Psychiatric Society wrote a letter to the censor board to object the film’s posters.

“Well, there will be a mild change in the title of the film since they find it too harsh, so we are more than happy to do that. And, other than that there are absolutely no cuts and they were thrilled to see the film,” actress Kangana Ranaut told reporters in a video.
Recently, producer Ekta Kapoor issued a disclaimer that ‘Mental Hai Kya’ was not insensitive towards mental illness and did not intend to rub anyone the wrong way. “The film in no way marginalizes the mental health community and the title of our film doesn’t intend to disregard anyone’s sentiments. It is sensitive towards the issue of mental illness,” she tweeted.
Directed by Prakash Rao Kovelamudi., the movie will be releasing on July 26, 2019, as per schedule.
