If there’s someone who shows promptly how reel and real lives are stark opposites, how threads of fantasy and reality hardly intertwine together, it is none other than Sonu Sood.
A regular villain in movies and a hero to the core, in reality, Sonu Sood has acted as a messiah for the needy. When the whole world has been scared of the novel coronavirus, Sonu Sood lent them a helping hand. Be it a worker or a pregnant woman, no one was turned away by the actor, our Moga Boy when they asked for help. If there was an award for “the man of the moment”, we’re positive that he would score the home run.

When it all began
While the novel coronavirus scared all of us and forced us into the confines of our homes, there were these migrants who were on the verge of ending up on streets because loss of jobs meant nothing to eat. Most of these workers took to the streets, making a long and arduous journey to their home states, where they would at least be assured of two meals a day. Opinions were rife on social media, TV, and even newspapers, with disappointment with the current government.
While a lot of celebs donated to the relief fund, Sood took it upon himself to fight from the frontline, using his own resources. He was the knight in shining armour for migrant workers who could not travel due to different reasons. He set up a call centre and worked round the clock to help these workers reach their homes.
“We started in March by distributing food. We started with 500 packets of cooked meals and groceries. Today we are distributing food and groceries every day to 45,000 people in slums, those stranded on the roads and those walking on the highways,” Sood told the BBC in an interview
But this was just a glimpse into his goodness.
Sonu Sood—The messiah to the poor
War brings out our inner survival instincts. Amid the hassle, the increasing economic tensions, and widespread unemployment, everyone is fending for themselves and altruism has taken a back seat. Humility, compassion, and empathy, which were significant traits of human personality, are slowly taking a backseat, because sometimes our circumstances force us to think only about ourselves.
We have become more selfish and self-centered. Sood held up a mirror to us when he became a source of happiness for millions.

While it cannot be ignored how many other people have contributed in the face of crisis, Sonu Sood has brilliantly proved how human touch can change a deed in seconds.
A destitute person is always grateful to someone who would help with immediate necessities in the face of a crisis.
While making travel arrangements for some 57,000 migrants is not as easy as it looks, Sonu Sood did it under his personal campaign “Ghar Bhejo”.
