Vicky Donor – Delivery Man
Vicky Donor starred Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam in the lead roles. It’s a romantic comedy film with the subject of sperm donation and infertility. The film, Vicky Donor, apparently inspired the 2013 film ‘Delivery Man’ starring Vince Vaughn and Cobie Smulders in the lead role.
A Wednesday – A Common Man
‘A Wednesday’ is one of the best thriller films in Bollywood. The film not only performed well at the box office but also inspired Sri Lankan filmmaker Chandran Rutnam to officially remake the film in Hollywood titled ‘A Common Man’.
Darr – Fear
‘Darr’ is a romantic psychological thriller film starring SRK and Juhi Chawla and Sunny Deol in lead roles. Many appreciated Shah Rukh’s role as an obsessive lover. Later, James Foley directed the film with the same storyline titled ‘Fear‘ where a 16-year-old girl, meets a charming boy (David) at a night club. Following this, the two fall in love. However, things take a turn when David reveals his darker side.
Abhay – Kill Bill
Abhay is a 2001 Indian psychological thriller film directed by Suresh Krissna. The film stars Kamal Haasan in a dual role. Kill Bill is also a thriller film directed by Quentin Tarantino and the director even said the film is inspired by Abhay.
Jab We Met – Leap Year
‘Jab We Met‘ starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor is one of the most loved films of all time in Bollywood. Anand Tucker’s ‘Leap Year‘ is based on a strikingly similar storyline. However, the makers of the film claimed that ‘Leap Year’ is not inspired by ‘Jab We Met’.
Maine Pyaar Kyu Kia – Just Go With It
‘Maine Pyaar Kyu Kiya‘ is a comedy-drama. The film starred Salman Khan, Sushmita Sen, and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. Hollywood’s ‘Just Go With It‘ is based on the same storyline.
Chhoti Si Baat – Hitch
‘Hitch’ is inspired by the plot of Bollywood’s film ‘Chhoti Si Baat‘ where a guy fails to impress a girl and takes the help of a man who makes it a profession to help people with similar problems. No matter what Hollywood claims, Bollywood did it first!
