On his birthday, 34-year-old Ranveer Singh revealed his first look for the upcoming film ’83
Ranveer Singh has revealed his look from his upcoming sports-drama, ’83. The actor took to his social media account to share his first look as Kapil Dev. He portraits the former team India captain, Kapil Dev, who went on to lead India to its 1983 cricket World Cup victory.
Why is Ranveer Singh’s new look going viral?
In the photo, Ranveer bears an uncanny resemblance to the former all-rounder cricketer Kapil Dev popularly known as the ‘Haryana Hurricane’. “On my special day, here’s presenting THE HARYANA HURRICANE 🌪 KAPIL DEV, 🏏🏆 ,” wrote Ranveer along with the photo. And within moments of sharing, his look attracted a lot of appreciation.
Recently, on the latest episode of ‘Breakfast with Champions’, Kapil Dev told Gaurav Kapur how Ranveer Singh and Kabir Khan are taking care of every single detail about his personality. Furthermore, he said, “He is a fabulous actor. He and Kabir Khan are taking care of every small thing. They are taking care of how I speak, my pronunciation. Ranveer thought that since I am a fast bowler, I must be aggressive and he wanted to learn how I express my anger. I told him, I might have gotten angry on the field, but off the field, I never lost my head.”
It was on 6 July 1983 that India won the World Cup. And Ranveer Singh chose to honor this day in the most unique way. So, he shared a video on his Instagram account with the caption, “36 years ago on this day, India turned the world upside down.”
The film will also feature Deepika Padukon as Kapil Dev’s wife Romi.
The film also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Saqib Saleem, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jatin Sharma, Ammy Virk, and Hardy Sandhu among others. Moreover, it will chronicle India’s win under Kapil’s captainship as the team defeated West Indies to clinch their first-ever World Cup trophy in 1983.
Furthermore, the film ’83 is being directed by Kabir Khan and it is slated to hit the big screens on 10 April 2020.
