The actress Esha Gupta, who was mercilessly trolled on social media for her recent post read ‘Gantantra Diwas ki Hardik Shubkamnaye’ (greetings on the occasion of Republic Day). The actor soon deleted the post and claimed that her account was hacked. However, netizens had a field day as they trolled her left, right and center for wishing Republic Day on Independence Day.

The now-deleted post got viral on the micro-blogging website as Twitterati began trolling by correcting her. “It’s not republic day ma’am. It’s independence day,” a Twitter user pointed her mistake. One of the Twitter users took a dig at her saying, “Didi, Parade ka wait mat karna TV chalu karke.”
One of the trollers wrote, “Did you mean, Happy Ganesh Chaturthi?” Another wrote, “Chhath puja ki hardik subhkamnaye.”
After Esha Gupta learned that her account was hacked, he tweeted: “Account hacked please don’t open or respond to any DM through this account. Thanks.”
And later Esha Gupta added, “Finally got the account back in order. Thanks to a lot of people who informed me on IG. (P.S – Don’t change your password if you get a mail about any suspicious activity on twitter and asks you to change the password as that can lead to hacking).”
After deleting the wrong tweet, she wished everyone a Happy Independence Day and added: “(thanks for telling an airforce daughter that she knows otherwise) y’all troller are too much”.
After receiving backlash on Twitter, she came up with an apology to her fans saying, “Guys I am sorry you thought it was racist. It was bad on my part, being a sports lover. Sorry guys, forgive the stupidity.”
