After Sanju, Manisha Koirala to join ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ director’s next project on Netflix
Just recently, digital streaming platform Netflix announced the upcoming lineup of series and movies for the following year. Now, its time for another series that circles around urban female-drama. And it stars one of the most versatile actresses of Bollywood, Manisha Koirala.
Manisha Koirala may be seen in Alankriti Shrivastava’s original Netflix series ‘Bombay Begums’
An urban female drama, ‘Bombay Begums’ is written and directed by Alankriti Shrivastava. Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala might play the lead role in Alankriti Shrivastava’s original series. “Manisha is one of the primary leads in the movie which has five central female characters in the narrative,” a source confirmed.
Shrivastava is best known for 2017’s women-oriented film ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’. Earlier, while talking about the project, the director had said, “Bombay Begums is an attempt to tell a story about the lives of urban Indian women, as honestly as I can. I hope that women (and maybe some men!) can connect to this story, no matter what their background, because maybe we’re all trying to find ourselves and our place in this world.”
The series revolves around five women across different generations and how they deal with society. “Manisha plays one of the elder ladies and has a really interesting character.”
Furthermore, this will be Manisha Koirala’s second project with the digital platform. Earlier, her series Lust Stories streamed on Netflix.
