The sequel of Bunty Aur Babli was on the cards for a long time. Now, it is believed that names are being surfaced on a daily basis regarding the casting.
A couple of weeks back, the sequel to the 2005 hit film Bunty Aur Babli was in talks and is likely to go on floors in the month of November, this year. The film starred Rani Mukerji and Abhishek Bachchan in the lead roles along with Amitabh Bachchan. Though there is a lot of speculations that are buzzing around the Dhadak star Janhvi Kapoor and Gully boyâs Mc Sher, Siddhant Chaturvedi can be the lead actors in the sequel.

On the other hand, Janhvi is on her way to expand her wings from Dharma to YRF and the sequel to the 2005 hit film seems just the right fight. A source close to the development told the daily that like Dharma, YRF, too, was trying to have Janhvi with Ishaan Khatter. However, the actor got busy with the work of his next and allotted bulk dates to Mira Nairâs A Suitable Boy.
The source also revealed that the makers want to begin the film by the end of this year itself, therefore, any kind of delay in getting the dates of the actors would not be entertained.
Shaad Ali, who directed the first film, was reported to not be a part of the sequel because of which Abhishek Bachchan had backed off. Later, Saif Ali Khan had shown his interest in taking up the role, only to drop it afterward. R Madhavan was another name that was rumoured to take it up. A report even Bollywood Hungama even said that the movie has gone on floors with Madhavan as the lead. Till there’s an official announcement on the same.
Bunty Aur Babli sequel will be helmed by Varun V Sharma, who had previously worked as a dialogue and screenplay writer for Salman Khan’s Bharat.
Meanwhile on the work front, it seems like thereâs going to be too much on Janhvi Kapoorâs plate in the coming days. After wrapping up her upcoming film Kargil Girl and Roohi Afza. The actor is moving on to shoot Dostana 2 that features opposite Kartik Aaryan. She also has Karan Joharâs Takht to begin early next year and now.
