Ranveer Singh will be soon seen in ’83’ opposite Deepika Padukone. The film is helmed by Kabir Khan and the story is based upon the 1983 Cricket World Cup which saw the Indian Cricket team to lift the world cup as they won against the West Indies. And how, Kapil Dev single-handly changed the game.
Ranveer Singh will play the role of Kapil Dev. And Deepika will be portraying his wife Romi Dev in the film. Fans are excited to watch both the actors on screen as this is the first time post marriage that Deepika and Ranveer will feature together.

In an interview with an entertainment portal, director Kabir Khan reveals Ranveer Singh breakdown on the set of 83. He said the actor was so emotional while filming the scene in which he had to lift the World Cup trophy that he broke down the moment Khan said ‘cut.’
Kabir Khan was quoted saying “We shot for five days at the Lord’s stadium in London, entering the members-only Long Room where no camera had ventured before, the dressing rooms and locker rooms, then, stepped out on the balcony where the World Cup was presented to Kapil sir. And guess what? They brought out the real World Cup for Ranveer Singh, (who is playing Kapil Dev in the film) too. Overwhelmed, he broke down when I shouted ‘Cut’.”
The film ’83’ is slated to hit the theatres on 10 April 2020. Apart from this, Ranveer Singh will also be seen in ‘Sooryavanshi’. The actor will share the screen space with Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn. On the other side, Deepika will be seen in ‘Chhapaak’ opposite Vikrant Massey. And the actress will play the role of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.
