Alia Bhatt is working with her father Mahesh Bhatt for the first time in the sequel of Sadak 2. She shared her feelings on working with her daddy
Alia Bhatt is currently busy in shooting for Sadak 2, the sequel of the 1991 hit film Sadak. Interestingly, it will mark the return of director Mahesh Bhatt after two decades. His darling daughters, Alia Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt, alongside Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt are playing the lead roles. Recently at Jio MIAMI Movie Mela where the actress featured a beautiful black outfit; she opened up about the movie and her experience of working with her father.

The actress said, “I think to myself, ‘Have I managed to get the director-actor relationship with him or is it still that he’s my father?’ I don’t know, I am still confused and I think by the end of the film I will realise what was our director-actor relationship. He is an absolute delight to work with. It is unbelievable how clear he is. His energy transcends all of us. He could be having high fever but he just doesn’t stop. He is so generous with actors.”
When daddy gets emotional
Alia Bhatt said that she broke down during an emotional scene when she saw tears in her father’s eyes after seeing her performance in the scene. In the actress’ own words, “I was doing an emotional scene and I didn’t plan to cry but I just started crying. He started crying while I was and I felt him cry and I broke out of the moment for a second and was like ‘That’s my Dad crying, I can’t see him cry’ and I started crying even more.”
More about the film, ‘Sadak 2’ is the sequel to Mahesh Bhatt’s 1991 film, Sadak. The original film featured his elder daughter Pooja Bhatt and actor Sanjay Dutt in lead roles. And now, Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt will return to the franchise along with new additions: Aditya Roy Kapur and Alia.
Alia Bhatt added that her biggest takeaway from Sadak 2 is the fact that it gave her time to bond with her father. “This is that one film I don’t care about the outcome. The joy that I had to be connected with my father, to work with him, he’s like a newborn baby on set. It’s just amazing,” said Alia Bhatt.
On the work front, besides Sadak 2, Alia Bhatt will be seen in Ayanmukharjee’s ‘Brahamastra’ opposite rumoured boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. She also has RRR in her kitty.
