On his very special day, Ranveer Singh revealed his look from the upcoming sports drama ’83. Singh carries an uncanny resemblance to the all-rounder Haryana Hurricane aka Kapil Dev in the photo he posted on social media.
Ranveer Singh embarked the challenge to master Kapil Dev’s action long back. He is working really hard with director Kabir Khan leaving no stone unturned to make 83 as real as possible.

Haryana Hurricane says “He is a fabulous actor. He and Kabir Khan are taking care of every small thing. They are taking care of how I speak, my pronunciation. Ranveer thought that since I am a fast bowler, I must be aggressive and he wanted to learn how I express my anger. I told him, I might have gotten angry on the field, but off the field, I never lost my head.”

All this time have been a whirlwind for Ranveer. From the very private wedding to Deepika Padukone on Lake Como in Italy, he finished the dubbing for Simba, followed by Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy.

He said “ I can’t repeat my tricks. I have to watch those films and live with myself and that filmography after that. So I can’t allow that to happen. I have to be creatively stimulated. Going into Kabir Khan’s ’83, I have perhaps my biggest challenge lying in front of me. I’ve done Khilji and Bajirao, but here’s Kapil Dev, somebody who’s well-known, loved and admired and one has to work within certain parameters. There’s a characterisation part, a physical part where I have to transform myself into one of the greatest athletes ever. As daunting as it seems, it’s scary but I love that.”

The actor wants to be a part of tales that are worth telling. He said that the audience travels and spends money to see him, so it’s his dire responsibility to give justice to that.
