1. Akshay Kumar
It was not an easy journey from a waiter in Hong Kong to the Khiladi of Bollywood. Akshay Kumar served many minor jobs before he got the opportunity of learning martial arts. Martial arts changed the actor’s life for the good. His love for this art brought him to Mumbai where he started teaching it. After this, he got a chance at modelling with the help of one of his students’ father. Since then, the Khiladi never looked back.

2. Nawazuddin Siddiqui
Born in a small village, Budhana in Uttar Pradesh, education was a luxury for Nawazzudin Siddiqui. His dreams were out of his family’s budget. So, he moved out of his village to find a better livelihood.

After his graduation, he worked as a chemist in Baroda and a watchman in Delhi. But he wanted a lot more from life. While working as a watchman, Nawazuddin was introduced to theatre and plays. These theatre acts inspired Nawazuddin who finally found his calling. He worked hard and went on to join NSD (National School Of Drama).

Despite a degree from such a prestigious college, it took years of turmoil for the versatile actor to become a big name in Bollywood. Without a speck of doubt, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s story is amongst the most inspiring ones in Bollywood.
3. Sanjay Mishra
Sanjay Mishra is a well-renowned comedian who is mostly seen in Rohit Shetty’s films. Read his heart-touching story in his own words.

“When I came to Mumbai in 1991, you had to either be a comedian or a villain or a hero. People couldn’t place me in any of these categories. (Director) Tigmanshu Dhulia, my NSD batchmate, offered me a television serial. Between 1991 and 1999, I tried my hand at everything — from lighting to art direction to camerawork. I also did photography and earned some money. I lived on the vada pav. If I missed home, I would go to Andheri station, where the Delhi-bound Rajdhani train would pass, and cry (Mishra’s parents were living in Delhi at the time).”
4. Boman Irani
Boman Irani is a big name in Bollywood as well as Tollywood. But do you know this — Boman once worked in local stores and as a waiter in random hotels. Today he is so successful that he launched his own production house in January 2019.

The actor’s journey from rags to riches is truly unbelievable. An owner of billions today, Rajnikanth worked as a bus conductor to earn his dreams. Rajnikanth started his cinematic career by playing a small role in Kannada mythological moral plays. But now he is at the epitome of success. His success can be measured in his fans’ love for him. 5. Johny Lever
Johny Lever is the best example of why one should never lose hope in life. Currently, the brilliant actor-comedian has all the comforts of life. But there was a time when he lived hand to mouth. He had to drop out of school in the 7th standard. In fact, he even took to selling newspapers on roads for survival. Can you imagine how long his journey from rags to riches have been?
