Hema Malini’s debut Punjabi production ‘Mitti-Virasat Babbaran Di’ poster released
After turning MP with BJP Hema Malini opts to become a producer with her debut Punjabi Production titled, ‘Mitti – Virasat Babbaran Di’.
This is a story of five youngsters and is set in present-day Punjab against that backdrop of terrorism and substance abuse menace. The movie also draws inspiration from the Babbar Akali movement.

“I am happy to be associated with the film. The story is not only inspiring but also topical with regards to what is happening in Punjab today,” Hema Malini said.
Directer Hriday Shetty added, “The story of mere five Sikhs (Babbars) fighting and sacrificing their life for the country will inspire generations to come. This film is our effort to pay tribute to their courage.”
The inspiration of the film lies in the true events of 1920 when five Sikh (Babbars) NRIs came back to India and fought with the Britishers and died in the battle.
The film is also Hriday Shetty’s first Punjabi movie as a director. Furthermore, the film is set to hit the theatres on 23rd August.
The teaser of the film will be out on July 15. It stars Kuljinder Sidhu, Japji Khaira, Jagjeet Sandhu and Nishawn Bhullar.
