Post Kanpur, Article 15 screening banned in Roorkee due to law and order concerns
Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Article 15 has been receiving positive reviews from both critics and the audience. The film has also faced backlash from various communities across the nation because of its anti-caste system stance.

Recently, the latest reports suggest that the screening of Article 15 has been banned in Uttarakhandâs Roorkee due to law and order concerns.
The Roorkee Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ravindra Singh Negi issued orders to RR Cinema the only theatre in Roorkee screening the film to cancel âArticle 15â shows and enforce the ban.
The SDM Roorkee said in his statement, âRepresentatives of Hindu Sena met me on Friday and expressed their concerns that the film, Article 15, portrays a particular community in a poor light. They demanded a ban on the screening. My view was that if the film is screened in the city, it could lead to law and order issues.â

Roorkee Station House Officer (SHO) Amarjeet Singh added, âWe received the orders and ensured that they were enforced. As of now, the film isnât being screened in the city.â An employee at the theatre, at the condition of anonymity, said, âWe donât want to invite any trouble, particularly because the SDMâs order states that we will be held responsible if something untoward happens.â
However, in the rest of the state, the movie is being screened.
