Google has announced $800+ Million to support global ‘Covid-19 Pandemic‘ crises and a fund of $340 Million in the form of free ads for small businesses (SMBs)
- $250 million in ad grants to help the World Health Organization (WHO)
- A $200 million investment fund that will support NGOs and financial institutions around the world
- $340 million in Google Ads Credits available to all SMBs with active accounts
- A pool of $20 million in Google Cloud Credits for academic institutions and researchers
- Direct financial support and expertise to help increase the production capacity for lifesaving medical devices

“As the coronavirus outbreak continues to worsen around the world, it’s taking a devastating toll on lives and communities. To help address some of these challenges, today we’re announcing a new $800+ million commitment to support small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), health organizations and governments, and health workers on the frontline of this global pandemic“
Google Covid-19 Pandemic $800 Million Package Includes:
1. $250 Million In Ad Grants
This package of $250 million in ad grants is to support WHO amd more than 200 givernment agencies globally that are providing critical information on how to curve the spread of Covid-19.
Additionally Google is providing $ 20 million in ad grants to community financial institutions and NGO’s who run public service announcements on relief funds and other resources for SMBs.
2. $200 Million Investment Fund
This fund will help and support NGO’s and financial institutions around the world who provide access to the capital to small businesses.

As one example, we’re working with the Opportunity Finance Network in the U.S. to help fill gaps in financing for people and communities underserved by mainstream financial institutions.
This is over and above the $15 million cash grant that Google.org is already helping with sepcially the nonprofits who help bridge gaps for SMBs.
3. $340 Million In Google Ads
SMB’s with active accounts over the past year can avail Google ads credits which can be used at any point untill the end of 2020 across Google Ads platforms. That said: SMBs who have been active advertisers since the beginning of 2019 will get a credit notification appear in their Google Ads account. This will help SMBs to stay in touch with their custoners during these challenging times of Coronavirus Pandemic.
4. $ 20 Million In Google Cloud Credits
This pool of $20 million is for academic institutions and researchers to leavegare Google’s computing capabilities and infrastructure for studying potential therapies and vaccines, track critical data, and identify news methods to combat Covid-19 diease.

In addition to the aforementioned commitments, the company further re-affirmed that it has increased the gift match Google offers every employee annually to $10,000 from $7,500.
Furthermore, Google’s sister company, Verily has ramped up drive-thru coronavirus testings with 1000 volunteers as a part of an effort to screen and test people with symptoms — reported CNBC.
