Recent Cell Phone Data Suggest That China Might Be Hiding Its Coronavirus Death Toll But Why?
Satellite images, speed of the internet and overall traffic information are telling a very different story of coronavirus death toll in China…
Heads Up! Seems like China’s Covid-19 Death Tolls are more than what government projected
- China’s Initial Negligence Questioned
- Control Measures and Power Play
- More Reasons To Doubt
On March 19 Beijing authorities announced that more than 21 million cell phone accounts were cancelled along with 840,000 landlines. These number points to China hiding its actual death toll from the rest of the world.
The numbers belonged to those who died in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. So why is China bluffing about its coronavirus death toll or are these signs of impending disaster?
The drop suggests the true scale of the pandemic. Given the complete lockdown and hampering of basic civic life, it’s impossible that people for any reason can cancel their mobile phone subscriptions.
China’s Doubtful Initial Response
Experts have previously questioned China’s delayed response to what now has blown into a pandemic. The first case in mainland China came up in December and by January 2020 the situation had become mildly serious.
While the China’s efforts to contain the pandemic are being looked upon, it has also drawn criticism. China should have acted on the first case back in December the negligence has coasted the world gravely. The country initially chose to conceal the fact leading to mismanagement. The front line hospitals and responders were hit the most due to government’s initial response.
Control Measures and Power Play
It’s only when the situation went out of hand that China imposed a complete travel ban, lockdown and strict quarantine. The policies and measures imposed on people who obeyed.
While the western countries and other Asian counterparts are gearing up to battle coronavirus battle. China is getting back on its feet again slowly. The quarantine and complete lockdown has in return impacted economies leading to a global economic crisis. And some global power struggles too.
More Reasons To Doubt
Wired reports based on China’s recent internet speed, satellite images and traffic information sketches a very different narrative in contrast to the data revealed by the Chinese government. The traffic data and internet speed show much less usage compared to previous data.
The true extent of the damage is beyond imagination and the news is coronavirus returns to hit China again. Even if China is hiding its coronavirus death tolls for how long?
