Wendy Williams made these apathetic comments about gay men on Thursday’s episode of ‘The Wendy Williams Show’. Her jokes went too far as she talked to her audience about Gelantine.
Her statement about how gay men ‘will never be the women we are’, ticked the bomb for social media. But it was not just gay men who were offended with her ‘skirts and high heels’ comment. Women felt equally dishonoured because of the stereotyping.
Interestingly, some social media users pointed out how a large chunk of Wendy Williams fan-base constitutes of LGBTQ community— yet she moved on to make such comments.
Wendy Williams’ Apology
Later, Wendy Williams released a video apology on Valentine’s Day. “Hi. I will start by saying I apologise,” she said. “I didn’t mean to offend my LGBTQ+ community on yesterday’s show.” As an explanation of her comments on gay men, Wendy William claimed that she “did not realise until I got home and I watched the second running of the show”.
