Prince Harry and Meghan stepped back as ‘senior royals’. Prince William and Kate decided to go on a sabbatical. And now, the royal family website redirected royal fans to a Chinese X-rated website. The Buckingham Palace is undoubtedly in the midst of a series of unfortunate events!
The weekend proved to be an unusual one for the royal family as their official website went technically bonkers. This weekend, the family’s official website, royal.uk, witnessed a technical blunder as it redirected its visitors to a hardcore adult website instead of the charities page. (Oops! - The Royal Blunder— the official royal website turned bonkers
- Meet the royal section that redirected visitors to an X-rated website
- The link was meant to redirect to a website of which Prince Harry is a patron.
- Was it just a technical glitch or does the royal family needs to keep a close and careful watch on royal.uk?
It sure must have been awkward when the Royal family found out that their official website is redirecting the visitors to something they would never endorse or be linked to. But it did happen. Currently, it is hard to point out whether it is a matter of grave concern or just an unpleasant technical glitch.
Here is what happened —
The Royal Family Website Blunder
The words p*rn and the royal family in one line have the potential to raise almost any eyebrow. Thus, as soon as the glitch was discovered, the word spread like wildfire. A section on the website which is titled ‘Charities and Patronages’ was affected. Among others, the link to a Welsh charity, Dolen Cymru, redirected the users to an X-rated website. Interestingly, Prince Harry is a patron of this charity.
But instead of directing the users to the Dolen Cymru website, the link sent them straight to a Chinese p*rn website. How did the technical team make it happen, no one knows!
The Buckingham Palace has not given any comments or explanations until now. Though, the blunder has been rectified. What do you think — what could have led to such a glitch?
