Marvel’s Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr, convinced Captain America and Hulk to join the Avengers and sign an MCU contract before he was removed from the Universe with Avengers: Endgame.
Did you know that Robert Downey Jr convinced Chris Evans to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Moreover, did you know that Robert Downey Jr also convinced Mark Ruffalo to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe? It seems like Marvel’s Tony Stark aka Iron Man was working undercover to convince famous Hollywood actors to sign contracts until the MCU itself let him go at the end of Avengers: Endgame.
- Robert Downey Jr’s Marvel character, Iron Man, died at the end of 2019 movie, Avengers: Endgame.
- Marvel’s Captain America, Chris Evans, was unsure about signing the Marvel Studios contract, but Robert Downey Jr convinced him.
- Mark Ruffalo also let the cat out of the bag and revealed that it was Robert Downey Jr who convinced him to play Hulk in ‘The Avengers’.
It is not the first time Chris Evans revealed that he was unsure about joining MCU. The Captain America actor has always been vocal about it. However, did you know that it was Robert Downey Jr who convinced Chris Evans to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
On a doubtful day, Chris Evans received a phone call from MCU’s Iron Man who told him the advantages of the role. Convinced with his words, Chris Evans planned his future and thought he would exit the MCU by 2017 to become a director. Well, we all know that in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame Chris Evans declared that he is in love with America’s a*s!
Robert Downey Jr Convinced Mark Ruffalo Too!
To convince Mark Ruffalo, it was as easy as, “I got a call from (Robert) Downey … and he just simply said, ‘Ruffalo, let’s go. We got this,’ in true Iron Man fashion. And then after that, I was like, ‘I guess I have to do it.'” Well.
Indeed fans would have been disheartened had someone else taken over the role of Hulk instead of Mark Ruffalo! So kudos to that.
“I was scared. I didn’t know what I could add to what I already thought had been done so well before me.” The director, Joss Whedon also convinced Mark Ruffalo that he was the right actor for portraying the role of the Hulk.
Chris Evans and Mark Ruffalo’s stories are out in the open. But even with only these two actors, the pattern of Robert Downey Jr poaching famous Hollywood actors to sign MCU contracts becomes somewhat clear. If it is dug deep, this pattern might even become more clear in the future.
So, what do you think? Is there actually some pattern here? Or are Chris Evans and Mark Ruffalo the only actors who Robert Downey Jr convinced? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
