It is easy to fire a trend among celebrities. The latest trend is a noble cause of donating for the ongoing world crisis. But with each passing day, it seems like donating is becoming a competition of sorts among celebrities.
Oprah Winfrey is the latest to join celebs who are giving donations to nullify the effects of coronavirus. The famous celebrity has pledged to donate a whopping amount of $10 million to coronavirus relief efforts.
With this, she has left behind Kylie Jenner and Dolly Parton who announced to donate $1 million.
Highlights
- Kylie Jenner and Dolly Parton had announced to donate $1 million.
- Now, Oprah Winfrey has multiplied the amount to ten times for the noble cause.
- Are the celebs doing it out of goodwill or sheer publicity?

Goodwill, Sheer Publicity Or A Mix Of Both?
This is not the first time that we have seen Oprah Winfrey generously impart donations for a cause. But this is surely the first time that we are seeing all the celebrities lining up to donate with a bang!
A couple of days ago, we read about Taylor Swift helping out a records store from going out of business. Apparently, it was for the first time that a celebrity did their part of giving back to society without publicising it. And yet, it was publicised.

Now, Oprah Winfrey, who can easily be called the Queen of donations, has pledged to support Americans during the coronavirus pandemic. She took to her Instagram handle and posted a clip along with a pledge in the caption,—”I am donating $10 million overall to help Americans during this pandemic in cities across the country and in areas where I grew up.”
Out of the $ 10 million, Oprah Winfrey will be donating $1 million to America’s Food Fund “to support those facing food insecurity.”
