In August 2019, Scarlett Johansson topped Forbes’ list of the highest-paid Hollywood actresses for the second year in a row. Interestingly, this was for the second time in a row. Her pay was quoted at a whopping $56 million. Anyone would have dreamed of being in her place. But that was not only the case.
Scarlett Johansson was not always such a success, in fact, she was a second choice for most of her projects. Later, she ended up taking over for British actress Emily Blunt, after the actress dropped out for scheduling reasons.

In an interview with Parade, the Black Widow actress revealed her recipe to success. “The best call you can receive is after you are rejected for something and then you get it. You appreciate it more.”
She continued, “I’ve basically made a career out of being second choice.”
Well, Scarlett Johansson really has made a career out of being the second choice. And she surely has earned her place at the top of the Forbes list.
